Sankashti Chaturthi 2022 Dates List – Sankatahara Chaturthi or Sankashti Chaturthi is a day dedicated to Lord Ganesha in every lunar month of the Hindu calendar.

According to it, it falls on the fourth day of the dark lunar phase of the Krishna Paksha (known as Sakat Chauth in the month of Megha). It is known as Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi is this day falls on Tuesday and is considered a very crucial day out of all the Sankasthi Chaturthi. To believe the mythologies and other scriptures, this day is said to have started around 700BC as a ritual for the removal of obstacles.

To mark this day, devotees keep a strict fast and break it at night after having sight of the moon, followed by worshipping and praying to Lord Ganesha. It is celebrated with great pomp and along with the recitation of Ganpati Atharvasheersha before the moonlight to invoke the blessings of the lord. It is believed that all the wishes of the devotees will be fulfilled and their obstacles will be removed if they honestly pray the remover of obstacles and the supreme Lord Ganesha.

Sankashti Chaturthi 2022 Dates List Every month, Lord Ganesha is worshipped under a different name and a seat (“peeta”).

Each fast observed has a story associated with it explained by the Vratha Katha. These Kathas are a total of 13 in number, one of each month and the 13th story is for one extra
