The COM makes the following recommendations to NHP.

1. That following examination by Presbytery, Robert Henry be Commissioned to serve as the Commissioned Pastor to Kentyre Presbyterian Church and

Timmonsville Presbyterian Church. (The details of the Covenants are included in the

COM report).

2. The COM requests the Presbytery grant it authority as a commission to dissolve the pastoral relationship between Rev. Samuel Sparks and Melina Presbyterian

Church should COM discern this is the appropriate and necessary action. (The congregation and COM approved a yearlong Medical Leave for Rev. Samuel Sparks and that yearlong leave ends on October 4. If it is in the best interests of the Pastor and/or the Melina congregation to dissolve the pastoral relationship, the COM would like not to have to wait until the next Stated Meeting on November 15.)

The COM did not hold a meeting in June, but approved the following items via email:  Approved changes to the terms of call for the following Installed Pastors o Rev. The COM did not hold a meeting in July, but approved the following items via email utilizing its commission authority given by NHP:

 Approved the dissolution of the pastoral relationship between Rev. Steve Fitzgerald and First Presbyterian Church of Cheraw effective August 21, 2022.  Approved the transfer of Rev. Steve Fitzgerald to Coastal Carolina Presbytery on

August 22, 2022.  Approved the dissolution of the pastoral relationship between Rev. Donald McManus and Lake City Presbyterian Church effective July 31, 2022.  Approved the dissolution of the pastoral relationship between Rev. Adrienne Anderson and Fork Presbyterian Church and add Rev. Anderson to the NHP Pulpit Supply List  Appointed Rev. Scott Andrews temporary moderator of First Presbyterian Church of

Cheraw.  Appointed Rev. Scott Andrews temporary moderator of Fork Presbyterian Church.  Appointed Rev. Vikki Brogdon temporary moderator of Lake City Presbyterian

Church.

The COM reports as information the following actions taken at its stated meeting on August 9, 2022 utilizing its commission authority given by NHP:

 Approved, pending examination and commissioning by NHP, a Commissioned Pastor

Covenant between Robert Henry and Kentyre Presbyterian Church from September 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.The terms of the part-time (10 hours per week)

Commissioned Pastor Covenant are as follows: o Weekly Terms: (1st and 3rd Sundays)  Cash Salary $ 125.00  Mileage $ 30.00  Total $ 155.00 o The Covenant includes 4 weeks of vacation (1 per quarter) and 2 weeks study leave per year.

 Approved, pending examination and commissioning by NHP, a Commissioned Pastor Covenant between Robert Henry and Timmonsville Presbyterian Church from

September 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.The terms of the part-time (10 hours per week) Commissioned Pastor Covenant are as follows: o Weekly Terms: (1st and 3rd Sundays)  Cash Salary $ 150.00  Housing $ 0.00  Total $ 1500.00 o The Covenant includes 4 weeks of vacation (1 per quarter) and 2 weeks study leave per year.

 Approved an Interim Pastor Agreement between Rev. Dan Sansbury and First

Presbyterian Church of Cheraw beginning September 6, 2022 through August 31, 2023. The terms of the part-time (20 hours per week) IP agreement are as follows:

 Approved raising the minimum terms of call for full-time installed pastors by 4%. The

Board of Pension dues for pastor’s participation are also rising by 2% to meet increased costs in the medical plan. 2023 Minimum terms of call will be:

The COM encourages Sessions to consider increasing the compensation of pastoral leaders in calls that are above the minimum terms by 4% in 2023.
