Liebe Leserinnen und Leser,
Dear reader,
die Zeichen stehen weiterhin auf Wachstum: Auch in diesem Jahr schreibt der Flughafen Hahn wieder ein Erfolgskapitel mehr. Die Zahl der Reisenden steigt ebenso stetig in die Höhe wie das Frachtaufkommen oder das Angebot an Flugzielen. Die Hotels auf dem Airport sind mit ihren Gästezahlen mehr als zufrieden. Neue Flugzeugabfertigungspositionen und noch mehr Parkplätze schaffen beste Voraussetzungen für die weitere Entwicklung. Und Bahn, Bund und Land planen die Anbindung des Airports an das Schienennetz, auch wenn das noch ein paar Jahre dauert. Die Weichen für die Zukunft also, können Sie in dieser Ausgabe des HahnAirport Magazins nachlesen, sind gestellt.
This year has also been marked by expansion and growth. Another successful chapter in the history of the Hahn Airport. The passenger numbers keep rising as well as cargo traffic and the number of different destinations offered. The airport’s hotels are more than happy with the number of guests. New stations for airplane handling operations and new parking lots prepare the airport for further expansion and new infrastructures are in planning even though the German rail, the federal and the local government estimate that several years of work will be necessary. As you can see and read in this issue of the HahnAirport Magazine, everything is well prepared.
Jetzt gilt es, den Betrieb weiter auszubauen, weitere Investoren für den Flughafen zu gewinnen. Inzwischen hat sich in der Branche herumgesprochen, dass die verlängerte Landebahn jetzt auch Langstreckenflüge mit großem Fluggerät erlaubt. Und eine Frage der Zeit ist es nur noch, bis die ersten regelmäßigen Passagier-Flüge Rheinland-Pfalz mit Amerika verbinden. Genau betrachtet ist der Flughafen sichtbarer Beweis für den Aufschwung im Land, der sich in einer spürbaren Beschäftigungszunahme auf dem Hahn auch in Zahlen messen lässt. Now, the airport’s operations have to continue expansion and new investors have to be found. And finally word got out that the extended runway allows long distance flights with bigger airplanes. It is only a question of time before the first flights take off to connect the Rhineland-Palatinate with the United States. If you take a closer look at the airport, you realise that he is reflecting the region’s general economic upswing that can best be seen in the airport’s growing number of employees.
