Interval for Mandatory Wire Rope and Sheave Replacement

INFORMATION ONLY Based on a review of replacement criteria for wire ropes and sheaves utilized in certain boom assemblies, JLG Industries, Inc. is extending the mandatory wire rope and sheave replacement interval to (8) years, on the above-referenced boom lift models. This change to the mandatory wire rope and sheave replacement criteria is retroactive for the above-referenced boom lift models, effective immediately.

All new Service and Maintenance Manuals for the above-referenced boom lift models will be updated to reflect the change in the mandatory wire rope and sheave replacement interval. Notwithstanding this change, periodic inspections are still required to check the condition of the wire rope and sheave assemblies. The wire rope and sheave assemblies must always be replaced as sets. Refer to the machine’s Service and Maintenance Manual for inspection, adjustment, and replacement criteria for wire ropes and sheaves.
