HIGHLIGHTS The Netherlands - At Sail Amsterdam 2010 a plan of a ship built with platforms rises at the head of Java Island. It will be 70 metres long, 23 metres high and 25 metres wide at the top. A landmark for all ships and visitors of the largest nautical event in Europe. Artist André Pielage designed the work called Boom Lift Ship commissioned by the Sail Amsterdam Foundation. Riwal provides the 30 platforms for the realisation of this artwork.

HOOGWERKERS BEELDEN SCHIP UIT OP Sail Amsterdam Nederland - Op de kop van het Javaeiland stond tijdens Sail Amsterdam 2010 een met hoogwerkers nagebouwd spantenplan van een schip; 70 meter lang, 23 meter hoog en in de top 25 meter breed. Een baken voor alle schepen en de bezoekers van het grootste nautische evenement van Europa. Kunstenaar André Pielage bedacht het werk Boom Lift Ship genaamd in opdracht van Stichting Sail Amsterdam. Riwal levert 30 hoogwerkers voor de realisatie van dit kunstwerk.

Dick Schalekamp (CEO Riwal): “Dat André Pielage het lef heeft om zo’n grootscheeps plan te bedenken en ons te benaderen… Dat vinden we mooi. We hebben veel voorbij zien komen, maar dat dít kan met onze hoogwerkers? Dat hadden we zelf natuurlijk nooit bedacht! Wij geven in ons bedrijf mensen graag verantwoordelijkheid en ruimte om te ondernemen. André laat zien dat ook in de kunst ondernemerschap belangrijk is. Meedoen met dit project past bij onze mentaliteit. Als dealer van JLG kunnen we de benodigde soorten en aantallen nieuw uit onze verkoopvoorraad leveren. Daarom waren we direct enthousiast.”

PLATFORMS VISUALISE SHIP at Sail Amsterdam

International Management Meeting The Netherlands - Since February 2009 twice a year the international managers and board members of Team Riwal have a meeting. The third edition, last March in Valencia, was focused on ‘crisis management & measures’.

Guest speaker Craig Paylor, president of JLG Industries, opened the meeting in a very inspirational way. He spoke about the world crisis of the last century and recent setbacks in the AWP industry, in which he has been active for the last 32 years. He specifically gave insights in the measures JLG took to come stronger out of the crisis and to be ready for the good times that are definitely ahead.

An important topic of IMM/3 was the exchange of information, which is required to measure and, if needed, redirect our performance. Especially the ‘monthly country report’ is an important medium for sharing financial, operational as well as commercial information in a unambiguous way.

The meeting was concluded with presentations and discussions on how Scandinavia, Spain and the Baltic States took major crisis measures.

IMM/4 will take place in the Netherlands on 1-2 October 2010. For this meeting marketing & sales and the financial planning of 2011 are the key subjects.

International Management Meeting Nederland - Sinds februari 2009 wordt er twee keer per jaar een meeting georganiseerd waarbij de internationale managers en board members van Team Riwal bij elkaar komen. Het thema bij de derde editie, begin maart 2010 in Valencia, was ‘crisis management & measures’.

Als gastspreker opende Craig Paylor, president van JLG Industries, op zeer inspirerende wijze IMM/3. Hij vertelde over de wereldcrisis van de vorige eeuw en over recentere terugvallen in de hoogwerkerbranche, waarin hij 32 jaar actief is. En specifiek gaf hij inzicht in de maatregelen die JLG genomen heeft om sterker uit de huidige crisis te komen en klaar te zijn voor de goede tijden die absoluut weer gaan komen.

Een belangrijk deel van IMM/3 was ingeruimd voor het onderling uitwisselen van informatie, die nodig is om onze prestaties te meten en zonodig bij te sturen. Vooral het ‘monthly country report’ is een belangrijk medium om zowel financiële, operationele als commerciële informatie op eenduidige wijze met elkaar te delen. Met presentaties en discussies over hoe in Scandinavië, Spanje en in de Baltische Staten ingrijpende crisismaatregelen genomen zijn werd de derde Internationale Management Meeting afgesloten.

IMM/4 vindt plaats op 1 en 2 oktober 2010 in Nederland, waarbij de nadruk zal liggen op marketing & sales en financial planning 2011.

First ‘Opboxers’ receive forklift truck certificate The Netherlands - Wednesday 7 July 2010 two students of the Dutch project ‘Opboxen’ received their forklift truck diploma out of the hands of Jur Kamsteeg, training supervisor at Riwal. A special moment since these two students are the first participants and graduates from the collaboration between Riwal and the Opboxen Foundation. Opboxen is an initiative of Jan and John Schildkamp. In their boxing school in Hoogvliet (Netherlands) they offer derailed juveniles a week programme that brings back the regularity in their lives.

The juveniles come from agencies like the police, Probation Netherlands, the Youth Council or the Child Care Foundation. Besides boxing they are offered a package with lessons like work motivation, social skills, working with a computer, safety certificate and budgeting. The ultimate goal of the project is to increase the chances of the participants in the labour market and thus creating a better future perspective.

New telehandler training (TCVT W04-07) The Netherlands - Earlier this year the Riwal Training Centre expanded their training programme with specific industrial training. Mid-September 2010 Riwal also offers a Telehandler operator training with lifting function (TCVT W04-07). Operators who carry out lifting operations on a construction site, with a working load moment of 10 ton

Eerste ‘Opboxers’ behalen heftruck certificaat When completed the programme many participants wil follow an education or get a job. ‘Opboxen’ has already delivered over 1,000 young people a job.

Riwal is actively involved in the project by offering training free of charge for the ‘Opboxen’ participants; whilst with a diploma in their pocket their chances of finding a job will increase. And if the enthusiasm and motivation of the first two participants is leading, then there is a bright future ahead for these young people. Riwal is proud to be a part of that.

Nederland - Twee deelnemers van het project Opboxen ontvingen woensdag 7 juli 2010 hun BMWT heftruckdiploma uit handen van Jur Kamsteeg, hoofd opleidingen bij Riwal. Een bijzonder moment want deze twee ‘Opboxers’ zijn de eerste twee deelnemers, en geslaagden, die voortkomen uit de samenwerking tussen Riwal en Opboxen. Het project Opboxen is een initiatief van Jan en John Schildkamp. In hun boxschool in Hoogvliet bieden zij probleemjongeren een weekprogramma dat hen weer regelmaat in hun leven moet teruggeven. De deelnemers komen er terecht via instanties als de politie, Jeugdzorg, Raad voor de kinderbescherming, Jeugdreclassering, gemeente Spijkenisse (leerplicht) of via SoZaWe (Jongerenloket).

Het programma bestaat niet alleen uit boksles, er wordt een totaalpakket geboden met lessen als arbeidsmotivatie training, sociale vaardigheid, computervaardigheid (ECDL), veilig-

heidscertificaat, maatschappijleer, budgettering en Bedrijfs Hulp Verlening. Uiteindelijke doel van het project is de vergroting van de kansen van de deelnemers op de arbeidsmarkt om zodoende een beter toekomstperspectief te creëren. Veel deelnemers gaan na het programma een opleiding doen, of stromen door naar een reguliere baan. Opboxen heeft inmiddels al voor meer dan 1.000 jongeren een baan opgeleverd.

Riwal is actief betrokken bij het project door hoogwerker-, verreiker- en heftruckopleidingen belangeloos ter beschikking te stellen voor de ‘Opboxers’. Met diploma’s op zak maken zij immers meer kans op een baan.

Als het enthousiasme en de motivatie van de eerste twee deelnemers de maatstaf is, dan is er voor deze jongeren zeker een mooie toekomst weggelegd. Daar wil Riwal graag een bijdrage aan leveren, ons motto is niet voor niets ‘Als je iets wilt bereiken’.

van 10 tonmeter of meer, moeten (in Nederland) in het bezit zijn van een TCVT-persoonscertificaat voor de betreffende machine. Dit geldt dus ook voor hijsen met de verreiker waarop een hijsjib (met of zonder lier) is bevestigd.

Instructeur Joop Lems heeft inmiddels de opleiding tot instructeur doorlopen en is met vlag en wimpel geslaagd.

HIGHLIGHTS Team Riwal Racing Nederland - Het raceseizoen 2010 van de Dutch Supercar Challenge (DSC) is voor Robin en Ferry Monster van Team Riwal Racing to nu toe erg wisselend geweest. In het derde raceweekend, op het circuit van Assen, kwam het team terecht in een hectische startcrash met veel schade als gevolg. Hierdoor werden er dat weekend in Assen geen punten gehaald. Op het Belgische circuit van Spa-Francorchamps in de Ardennen in het laatste weekend van juni keerde het tij. Na een uitstekende start reden de heren naar een schitterende overwinning, de eerste van dit seizoen. In augustus werd ook op het circuit van Assen een hele goed race gereden. Tijdens de eerste race op zaterdag werd een eerste plaats behaald en de race op zondag leverde ondanks een glijpartij op het natte circuit een derde plaats op. Daarmee is Team

Riwal Racing nu de grote kanshebber voor een tweede positie in het eindklassement van de DSC. Formule Ford Team Riwal Racing kent sinds het begin van dit jaar een nieuw talent. Riwal sponsort de Noord-Hollandse coureur Rogier Jongejans die uitkomt in de Formule Ford. Een Formule Ford auto weegt 415 kg, er zit een 1.600 cc Duratec motor in van 150 pk, ze gaan van 0-100 in minder dan vijf seconden en bereiken een topsnelheid van 230 km/u. Veel Formule 1 toppers zijn voortgekomen uit de Formule Ford, waaronder Christian Albers, Robert Doornbos, Jenson Button, Mika Hakkinen, David Coulthard en ook Michael Schumacher. Rogier Jongejans is hard op weg zich bij dit rijtje te voegen. Momenteel heeft hij een leidende positie in het Nederlandse Formule-Ford kampioenschap.

The Netherlands - The 2010 racing season of the Dutch Supercar Challenge (DSC) has so far been of mixed success for Robin en Ferry Monster of Team Riwal Racing. They started well at Silverstone, in the first and second race they finished in fourth place. After this race it went downhill. The third raceweekend at the Assen circuit (Netherlands) the team got caught in a hectic crash with a lot of damage as a result. This left them with no points in Assen.

In June, at the Belgian circuit of SpaFrancorchamps, the tide turned. The men had an excellent start and drove to a stunning victory, the first of the season. The race at Assen circuit in August was also succesful. The team finished first in the first race and third in the second race. This leaves Team

In een noodgeval hebben slachtoffers meestal wel een mobiele telefoon bij zich, maar hulpverleners weten niet wie ze uit de lijst met nummers moeten waarschuwen.

The Netherlands - Panic! An accident with injuries. The victims are unconscious. Paramedics find a mobile phone, but who do they call? In case of an emergency victims usually carry a mobile phone, but paramedics do not know who to warn from the list with contacts.

They could also urgently need medical information such as blood type, use of medication and allergies. Therefore place the name of the person you would like to be contacted in case of an emergency under ICE (In Case of Emergency) in your mobile phone.

That way paramedics know who to contact if you aren’t able to tell them.

Riwal Racing a likely candidate for the second place in the final ranking of the DSC. Formula Ford Since the beginning of this year Team Riwal Racing has a new talent. Riwal is sponsoring Rogier Jongejans who races in the Formula Ford. A Formula Ford car weighs 415 kg, has a 1.600 cc Duratec motor of a 150 HP, it goes from 0-100 in less than 5 seconds and has a top speed of 230 km/h.

Many succesful Formula 1 drivers have emerged from the Formula Ford, namely Jenson Button, Mika Hakkinen, David Coulthard and Michael Schumacher. Rogier Jongejans is on his way to adding his name to this list.

At the moment he is in the lead of the Dutch Formula Ford championship.

‘ICE’ is an internationally known abbreviation. Contactlists in your mobile phone are ordered by alphabet. Therefore ICE isn’t on top of the list. This can be solved by placing a dash or dot in front of ‘ICE’.

If several persons need to be called use ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etcetera. It doesn’t cost a thing and can surely make a difference.

HIGHLIGHTS Environmentally friendly platforms The Netherlands - The demand for machines with a particulate filter (DPF) is increasing. For both the environment, and for operators, the emission of the machines with DPF filter is less harmful.

Therefore Riwal Netherlands is placing the most advanced DPF filters on many of its diesel-powered platforms.

Special about this type of filter is that they are self-regenerating. This means that the DPF filter cleans itself, by burning the remaining soot.

Riwal wants to take it a step further and is working on an environmentally friendly platform. Currently there is a test with a JLG 660. This machine features a DPF filter, biodegradable hydraulic oil and bio-diesel. Especially in case of leakage, bio-oil is less damaging to the environment than regular oil.

The ‘Huurwijzer’ is an all-in-one pocketsize (A6) brochure that contains an oversight of the rental fleet, gross rates, machine specifications and a ten rule quick guide to operate an aerial work platform (awp). These rules are also included in the ‘Werkwijzer’, a credit card size booklet which can be independently distributed, but is also placed near the control panel on the awp’s.

Dit betekent dat de roetfilter zichzelf schoonhoudt, door het achtergebleven roet te verbranden. Het is het meest geavanceerde type roetfilter op de markt.

New documentation The Netherlands - In the last few months Riwal Netherlands has published the ‘Huurwijzer’, ‘Werkwijzer’ and a training brochure. This new documentation provides customers with an even better insight in the products and services Riwal has to offer and emphasis the importance of working safely at heights.

Nederland - Riwal heeft de afgelopen maanden een ‘Huurwijzer’, ‘Werkwijzer’ en de brochure ‘Opleidingen’ uitgebracht. Deze nieuwe documentatie geeft een nog beter inzicht in de producten en diensten van Riwal en zij benadrukken het belang dat Riwal hecht aan het veilig werken op hoogte.

Riwal wil nog een stapje verder gaan en is bezig met de ontwikkeling van een eco-machine. Op dit moment wordt er een test gedaan met een JLG 660. Deze is uitgerust met onder andere een roetfilter, biologisch afbreekbaar hydraulische olie en bio-diesel.

Vooral bij lekkages is de bio-olie veel minder schadelijk voor de omgeving dan reguliere olie.

De ‘Huurwijzer’ is een alles-in-één boekje op zakformaat dat o.a. een overzicht biedt van de verhuurvloot, brutotarieven, machinespecificaties én een overzicht met tien tips voor het veilig werken op hoogte. Deze tips zijn ook opgenomen in de ‘Werkwijzer’, een klein harmonicaboekje op creditcard formaat. Het boekje wordt los verstrekt en is terug te vinden op alle hoogwerkers uit de verhuurvloot.

Naast diverse trainingen op het gebied van hoogwerker, verreiker, heftruck en VCA heeft Riwal ook een pakket aan industriële trainingen. Alle opleidingen staan overzichtelijk gepresenteerd in de nieuwe brochure.

Twee unieke hoogwerkers Nederland - Riwal heeft het verhuurassortiment uitgebreid met twee unieke nieuwe hoogwerkers. Aan het assortiment elektrische schaarhoogwerkers is een 34m machine van Holland Lift toegevoegd. Riwal is het eerste verhuurbedrijf wereldwijd dat deze machine in de vloot heeft. Met zijn 34 meter is de Holland Lift de hoogste elektrische machine in onze vloot. Daarnaast heeft Riwal als eerste verhuurder in Nederland de nieuwe 27 meter autohoogwerker van Ruthmann in het assortiment opgenomen.

Uniek aan de Ruthmann TB 270 is de combinatie van werkhoogte (27 m) en het eigen gewicht (3.500 kg). Hierdoor mag deze autohoogwerker bestuurd worden door personen in het bezit van een BE-rijbewijs.

Two unique AWP’s The Nederlands - Riwal Netherlands has expanded the rental fleet with two unique aerial work platforms. The range of electric scissor lifts has recently been expanded with a 34m machine of Holland Lift. Riwal is the first rental company worldwide that has this scissor lift in its rental fleet. With its 34 metres, the Holland Lift machine is the highest electrical machine in our fleet.

Also Riwal is the first rental company in the Netherlands to add the new 27 metre Ruthman van mounted platform to their fleet. Unique of the Ruthmann TB 270 is the combination of working height (27 m) and weight (3,500 kg).

This makes that this van mounted lift can be driven with a BE-driving licence.

HIGHLIGHTS Riwal opent vestiging in duitsland Nederland - In het industriële hart van Duitsland, vlakbij het vliegveld van Dortmund, heeft Riwal in mei 2010 de eerste Duitse vestiging geopend.

Riwal opereert vanuit Dortmund Wickede met een depot ter grootte van 3.000 m2.

Een goed voorbeeld is de samenwerking tussen Riwal Duitsland en Sky-Lift Zeilinga GmbH uit Berlijn, welke heeft geleidt tot de levering van machines voor het in aanbouw zijnde vliegveld Berlijn Schönefeld. “Beide bedrijven zijn sterk in specifieke machine typen en we vullen elkaar zeer goed aan, omdat de meeste klanten hun machi-

nes het liefst van één leverancier betrekken”, aldus Christoph Scheeben, vestigingsleider Riwal Duitsland.

Naast een uitgebreid aanbod in zeer grote spinhoogwerkers en autohoogwerkers geleverd door Zeilinga heeft Riwal Duitsland in mei 2010 vier JLG 860 SJ’s en een JLG 800 AJ geleverd.

Naar verwachting zijn al deze machines lange tijd op de bouwplaats aanwezig.

Al enige tijd waren de ogen op het buurland gericht. “Het openen van een vestiging in Duitsland wachtte alleen nog op het vinden van de juiste mensen.” zegt Dick Schalekamp (CEO Riwal). In de zoektocht nam Søren Rosenkrands, general manager bij Riwal Denemarken, contact op met Christoph Scheeben, met wie hij eerder had samengewerkt bij een groot Duits verhuurbedrijf. “In Christoph hebben we de ervaring, vaardigheden en motivatie gevonden die nodig zijn om Riwal Duitsland succesvol te starten.”

Mega winkelcentrum Kroatië Kroatië - In Zagreb is in januari 2010 het grootste winkelcentrum van zuidoost Europa geopend. Bij de bouw zijn meer dan 100 machines van Riwal ingezet, van hoogwerkers tot verreikers.

De verhuurvloot van Riwal Kroatië is inmiddels uitgebreid naar 300 machines. Ook zijn er plannen voor uitbreiding naar Servië, Montenegro, Bosnië en Herzegovina.

Berlin Airport

Germany - Near Dortmund airport, in the industrial heart of Germany, Riwal has set up its first German rental location. Riwal Germany officially started its activities on 1 May, 2010 from a 3,000 m2 depot in Dortmund-Wickede.

Germany - Since the opening of Riwal Deutschland, great efforts have been put in building relations with other rental companies in order to co-operate on specific jobs. One very good example of this is the newly established co-operation between Riwal Deutschland GmbH and the company Sky-Lift Zeilinga GmbH from Berlin, resulting in access solutions for the new Airport Berlin Schönefeld. “Both companies are strong in specific machine types and we complement each other very well because most customers want to get their access equipment from one place for specific projects” states Christoph Scheeben, the sales manager of Riwal Deutschland. Besides a large number of especially large spider and trailer mounted platforms delivered by Zeilinga, Riwal Deutschland has delivered four JLG 860 SJ and one JLG 800 AJ during May 2010.

All machines will presumably be staying on the construction site for quite some time.

With its headquarters in The Netherlands and amongst others operations in Denmark, Poland and France Riwal has had many eyes on the neighbouring country for some time. “It was just a matter of finding the right local people to open up Riwal Germany GmbH.” says Dick Schalekamp, Riwal’s CEO. In their search Søren Rosenkrands, Riwal’s general manager in Denmark, contacted Christoph Scheeben, with whom he had worked for a large German rental company. “In Christoph we have found the experience, skills and motivation that are needed in order to start, build and manage the Riwal business in Germany successfully.”

Obviously our primary focus is to be successful with self propelled and truck mounted aerial work platforms as well as telehandlers in the Ruhr area. UK - Op 9 en 10 juni 2010 bracht Dick Schalekamp (CEO Riwal) een bezoek aan het Verenigd Koninkrijk om het eerste jubileumjaar van Riwal UK te vieren. Hij maakte van de gelegenheid gebruik om in contact te treden met klanten van de vestiging en was gastheer van een diner voor alle medewerkers van de vestiging. Hij bracht ook een bezoek aan het nieuwe depot in het oosten van Londen. Dit depot ligt dichtbij de bouwplaats voor het Olympische stadion voor de spelen van 2012.

UK - On 9 - 10 June 2010 CEO of Riwal; Dick Schalekamp, visited the United Kingdom to celebrate the first anniversary of Riwal UK. While spending two days in the United Kingdom, Dick took the opportunity to spend time with customers and hosted a dinner for all the employees of the company. He also visited the new depot in East London that is close to the site of the Olympic stadium 2012.

In het eerste jaar is Riwal UK uitgegroeid naar ruim honderd machines en zes fulltime personeelsleden. Allemaal met ruime ervaring in de hoogwerker branche. In de nabije toekomst komen daar nog eens 2 werknemers voor het depot in Londen bij. Riwal UK heeft een zeer gevarieerd klantenbestand. Op dit moment heeft Riwal UK meer dan 10 machines met een werkbereik van boven de 30 meter bij het Olympisch stadion staan.

Familiedag Silverstone UK - Toen Riwal UK hoorde dat Team Riwal Racing in april 2010 met de Dutch Supercar Challenge ging rijden op Silverstone besloten ze klanten en hun familie uit te nodigen voor deze race. Zij huurden een box met uitzicht op de finish. Met 120 aanwezigen was de dag zeer succesvol. Team Riwal Racing ontving klanten in hun hospita-

lity ruimte en deelde vele handtekeningen uit aan de kinderen. Het was een zeer spannende race, met nog twee rondes te gaan lag Team Riwal op de tweede plaats kort achter de nummer één. Door technische problemen moesten zij zich helaas tevreden stellen met een vierde plaats, maar wel vele krachtigere auto’s achter zich latend.

In their first year Riwal UK has grown to over one hundred machines and now employs six full time staff all with in-depth knowledge of the powered access industry in the United Kingdom, with two new employees joining in the near future to help staff the new London depot. During the year Riwal UK has served a wide and varied customer base. Renting equipment to many prestigious projects, such as Tower Bridge in London, the Olympics and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, located in Stratford. Riwal UK now has over ten pieces of equipment at the Olympic site, all of which are over 30 metres.

Euro 2012 POLandUkraine Poland - Since 2008 Riwal has succesfully operated on the Polish market.

Poland and Ukraine are preparing for the European Football Championship Euro 2012. For the construction of the new National Stadium in Warsaw and Cracovia Stadium in Cracow, Riwal Poland provides access equipment.

The National Stadium is one of the main stadiums of the European Football Championship 2012. It is expected to host, among other things, the opening match, some of the group matches, one quarter-final and one semi-final.

UK - After hearing that Team Riwal Racing were competing at Silverstone in April 2010, Riwal UK decided to make the most of it and held a Customer Family Day. They hired a suite overlooking the finishing line and invited customers and their families to enjoy the racing. The day was very successful with 120 people attending. Team Riwal Racing were very hospitable. After the racing they signed autographs for the children and spent time chatting to the guests and showing them the Riwal Seat Leon Supercopa. The race was very exciting, with two laps to go Riwal was in second place and about to catch the winning car. They finished in fourth place due to technical difficulties, but still ahead of many of the more powerful cars. All had a fantastic day.

France - As of 1 March 2010, Riwal France has opened its sixth depot.

This new national depot is located in the town of Lyon, the second largest city in France, that has a population of nearly two million people. Lyon is a dynamic economic centre that is positioned very well geographically because it is also close to Italy and Switzerland.

The depot has been located on the southwest side of the city. Our goal is to have 100 machines attributed to this depot by the end of 2010. Depot manager Olivier Bernard is a young leader who has spent five years in the access rental business in France as a sales person. His energy and determination, supported by the dynamic and competent Riwal Team, will help drive the Lyon depot to become a success.

Pascal Coquatrix has been recruited as the technical manager for this new depot. He has seven years experience as an after-sales technician for Genie Industries in southeastern France.

Clem ECOLOGIC Spanje - Clem’s ecologische afdeling (Clem Ecologic) heeft deelgenomen aan de Ecologiebeurs 2010 in Palma de Mallorca.

Vervolgens heeft Clem, in samenwerking met Alco, van 8-11 juni 2010 deelgenomen aan de internationale beurs van Openbaar Vervoer en Milieu.

Spain - The ecological department of Clem (Clem Ecologic) has participated in the Ecology Fair 2010 in Palma de Mallorca. New head office Clem Riwal IN CHESTE Spain - On 5 March 2010 the new head office of Clem Riwal opened in Cheste (Valencia). For the location of the office various options were considered.

Eventually they chose Cheste close to highway A3 with direct access to Valencia, Barcelona and Alicante. The new office was designed with an eye for creating an efficient, pleasant and sustainable work environment.

Brasil - In Curitiba (Parana) the Coca Cola Company recently inaugurated their first “Green Factory” for the production of their popular tea drink “Matte Leão”. For the test phase and start up of this factory the construction company Emisa/Plaenge required, together with Eletro GE, reliable and sustainable access equipment. It was Riwal Brasil that they requested to provide a suitable solution. During this delicate phase of going into production, professionals need to have access to the most awkward locations and have the flexibility to rush from one place to the next.

Brazilië - In Curitiba (Parana) heeft de Coca Cola Company onlangs hun eerste “groene” fabriek geopend voor de productie van het populaire theedrankje “Matte Leão”. Voor de testen opstartfase van deze fabriek had bouwbedrijf Emisa/Plaenge betrouwbaar en duurzaam materieel nodig voor werken op hoogte. Zij hebben Riwal Brazilië verzocht voor een passende oplossing te zorgen. Gedurende de delicate productie opstartfase hadden de technici toegang nodig tot zeer lastige plaatsen en ze moesten zich snel van de ene naar de andere plek kunnen verplaatsen.

With the supply of some Altrex Scaffolding aluminium rolling towers they were able to work safe and clean near the production of tea sodas and powders. Along with JLG electric aerial work platforms to reach the most difficult places, the professionals had everything under control. Director Mr. Anderson Camargo Lopes of Eletro GE told “- It is the first time we use this kind of aluminium rolling towers in combination with articulating boom lifts. Not only are we flexible and working safe, we also managed to save time, speeding up the work.”

Riwal’s Marinalva Rosa de Assis, Quality Supervisor and currently integrating ISO 9001/14001/18001 in cooperation with Bureau Veritas, commented: “Today in Brasil it is becoming more and more practice to apply sustainable solutions to improve the quality, health and safety on site. The proper use of aerial work platforms, telehandlers and aluminium scaffolds is a great benefit in this perspective”.

Pihl & Son A/S. Riwal won in front of some very good competitors like VMC and BMS. Due to this agreement Riwal Denmark is the sole supplier of telehandlers and access plat-

forms for the new Vestas headquarter in Århus. This is a major project and in order to maintain the service and supply of machines a small depot was formed on site. Besides machines it also offers unload service by forklift or telehandler in order to provide a steady flow of building materials to be delivered to the project.

Slovenië - Het nieuwe sportcentrum in Ljubljana is in combinatie met de bijbehorende gebouwen het grootste bouwproject in Slovenië dit jaar. Het project beslaat 166.000 m2 en bestaat uit een voetbalstadion, sporthal, parkeergarage en een winkelcentrum.

Riwal is sinds de herfst van vorig jaar vertegenwoordigd op het project. Momenteel staan er zo’n 60 machines.

Slovenia - Sports centre Stozice in Ljubljana, with premises, is the biggest building site in Slovenia this year.

It covers 166,000 m2. The whole project contains a football stadium, sports hall, interior car park and commercial centre. Riwal is present on the project since last autumn. At the moment there are around 60 machines on site.

The work started in the summer of 2009. The opening of the football stadium and sports centre is planned at the end of summer 2010; the opening of the commercial centre in the middle of 2011. The football stadium will have around 16,000 seats and the sports hall around 12,000 seats. For visitors there will be 3,500 parking spaces available and a 70,000 m2 commercial centre with around 120 shops. The complex also includes fitness studios, a climbing centre, an outdoor sports park with three football fields and running and skating tracks.

For Manlift this has meant propelling their efforts towards their new businesses in Abu Dhabi and Qatar as well as continuing to consolidate the core team in Dubai. This has included the arrival of Rob Cavaleri as new group operations manager and Tom Anderson moving as general manager in Abu Dhabi. Rob brings extensive experience from his time spent with Terex and Instant Access in Australia. Manlift has also recruited another platform sales team member highlighting Dubai’s continued role as a regional trading hub for equipment sales.

Access Platforms Manlift is the sole supplier of Platforms for the Strata Composite project in Al Ain, which is a joint venture between the local Mubadala and the European Airbus Industry, where currently more than 40 machines are working. This will increase to more than 60. Al Ain together with Emal are the two largest projects for Manlifts platforms at present.

Generators The generator rentals team has been strengthened with the arrival of Ajay Koul (ex Terex & CAT) as senior sales manager looking after the Dubai rentals team. With Ajay’s arrival we have re-introduced sales best practices and won a series of prestigious projects. Competition is fierce but Manlift’s reputation for quality and service is undoubted which is often a key differentiator.

Noorwegen - In mei was Noorwegen gastland voor het Eurovisie Songfestival 2010 in Oslo. Riwal was exclusief leverancier van hoogwerkers en verreikers voor de opbouw van het podium, de show en alles daaromheen.

De machines werden verhuurd voor een periode van twee maanden (april en mei). De Riwal machines waren meerdere malen op televisie te zien in reclamespots.

Norway - In May Norway hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. It was held in Oslo. For the rigging of the scene, the show, and all other stuff Riwal was exclusive supplier of all access equipment and telehandlers. The rental period was appx. two months (April and May). Riwal appeared on Television several times in Commercials.

Nederland - Riwal hecht veel waarde aan training en opleiding van medewerkers. Ook gevoel bij het product is van belang. Daarom worden met regelmaat medewerkers uitgenodigd voor een IPAF hoogwerkeropleiding in het opleidingscentrum in Dordrecht.

In februari 2010 hebben ook Doron Livnat, Willem Ledeboer en Nico Bijlsma, leden van de Board of Directors, deze opleiding gevolgd en zijn zij met vlag en wimpel geslaagd.

The Netherlands - Riwal attaches great importance to training and education of employees. Also understanding the product is important.

Therefore employees are regularly invited to an IPAF training in the training centre in Dordrecht. In February 2010 also Doron Livnat, Willem Ledeboer and Nico Bijlsma, members of the Board of Directors, took this training and they passed with flying colours.
