Ho trascorso moltissimo tempo a studiare le abitudini del martin pescatore per poterlo fotografare al meglio. Da un capanno, ho spiato per cinque giorni questa coppia, nei pressi di un torrente a Norfolk, in Inghilterra. Ho scoperto quali erano le aree di pesca preferite, collocando quindi la macchina fotografica il più possibile vicino al livello dell’acqua.
I had always wanted to photograph kingfishers and had spent a lot of time studying their habits. This bird was one of a pair and is located in Norfolk, England. I spent five days in a small hide at the edge of a stream to capture this moment. I placed my camera as close to the water level as possible. Then, of course, I tryed to calculate what would be the best exposure to achieve it.

Questa immagine è stata scattata ai primi di aprile, all’isola di Helgoland, dove nonostante un clima più invernale che primaverile, alcune beccacce di mare abbozzavano i primi corteggiamenti e le scaramucce fra coppie confinanti erano piuttosto frequenti. Questi bellissimi limicoli, che in Italia sono molto schivi e diffidenti, su quest’isola non mostravano alcun timore e sebbene la mia presenza non passasse certamente inosservata, tolleravano senza problemi la mia invadenza.
This picture was taken in early April at Helgoland island where, despite a winter warmer that spring, some oystercatchers slightly with the first courtship and skirmishes between neighboring pairs, were quite frequent. These beautiful shorebirds, which in Italy are very shy and wary, on the island showed no fear and although my presence will certainly not pass unnoticed, tolerated my intrusion with no problems.
