The Spiritual Disciplines Disciple U Keith and Kristin Peterson Part I: Devotion What do you think of when you hear the word ‘disciple’? After reading John 8:31 and listening to Keith and Kristin’s message, how does your definition of the word ‘disciple’ change? Read Deuteronomy 6:5-9. What does it look like to devote yourself with all of your strength? Does the Lord have all of your devotion?

Are you prioritizing your time with Him every day? If not, what are some practical steps that you can take today to change that?

Read Luke 10:38-42. Mary chooses devotion and sat at the feet of Jesus. Are you at His feet? Are you in His presence? Have you prioritized the one thing that Jesus said is needed?

What are some of the distractions in your everyday life that keep you from spending time with the Lord? Open your heart to Him. He is waiting to spend time with you.

Part II: Solitude Read Luke 6:12 and Mark 1:35. Jesus made it a discipline to spend time alone with God in solitude. Is this a spiritual discipline that you currently have? If so, how has it impacted your relationship with Him? If not, will you set time aside today to spend time with Him?

Have you ever felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to spend time in solitude with the Lord? Share about your experience.
