Which college/university will you attend after graduation?
I haven't decided yet.
How many years have you been at Riverstone? 4
What is the title of your Extended Essay? How do Carol Ann Duffy’s alternative versions of Bible stories prompt the reader to consider multiple perspectives about women’s experiences and roles across time?
What was your most important or meaningful CAS experience? Coaching a kids basketball camp over the summer and learning that I have a passion for coaching. It was so much fun to watch the kids just soak up everything you were teaching them, it reminded me that we all have a ton of potential.
What have your (personal) challenges been at Riverstone? Working in an environment that is very different than that at public schools, adjusting to the IB from the public school system was quite challenging.
Tell us the ways you feel that you are prepared for the next part of your journey. I feel that Riverstone does a really good job of ensuring that our heavy workload allows us to be prepared in time and stress management and by creating a way for us to learn this in highschool as opposed to college.
What are two pieces of advice that you want to give to other students at Riverstone? Finish your first draft EE before the summer and try to get your CAS done during the summer. Remember that high school is fun, go enjoy the social part of your life, since not everything is about school.
What are three words that describe your experience at Riverstone? Challenging. Adventurous. Fun.
What are one or two of your favorite memories or highlights of your journey at Riverstone? One of my favorite things at Riverstone has been the outdoor trips. playing sports, and making new friends through these experiences. My favorite memory on a trip would be the Grand Gulch trip my freshmen year. We had been hiking all day and completed the hike by lunchtime so we decided to hike further so we could rest more. We got to a section of the hike where there was water up to our shins, it was cold, wet and overall miserable. Everyone was quiet except for Kyla and Darci who were singing trail songs sounding happy as can be, and at the time it was really annoying but looking back on it, they made the trip more enjoyable. Now we all look back on that and laugh.
