Did you know the Aboriginal inhabitants
of the Wagga Wagga region were the Wiradjuri
people and the term ‘Wagga’ is thought to mean
crow, and saying Wagga twice is the plural,
thus Wagga Wagga is the ‘Place of Many Crows’.
The City has adopted the image of the crow as
its icon. Crows are amongst the most intelligent
of birds, are adaptable and resilient and a truely
iconic bird of the Australian bush.’
