Local stars to shine at Mayoress' Supernova concert A showcase of Wagga Wagga’s brightest high school stars will headline this year’s Mayoress Charity Concert at the Civic Theatre.

“There are some brilliant young performers in our community and this is an opportunity for them to take centre stage and show us their best,” Mrs Conkey said. “Often those skills and talents are hidden behind closed doors. Mrs Conkey stressed the concert is open to all members of the public and urged the community get behind a worthy cause. “This is a concert for everyone in the community … it’s not just for the performing students’ families to attend. Everyone in the community is invited and I urge them to come along and enjoy a few hours of quality performances,” Mrs Conkey said. The Mayoress Charity Concert returned to the stage last year after 14 years since the previous event.

Mrs Conkey said the success of the 2018 concert set the precedent for her to ensure another fantastic line-up of local talent for this year’s extravaganza. Schools involved include Kildare Catholic College, Kooringal High, Mater Dei Catholic College, Mount Austin High, Shepherds Park, The Riverina Anglican College, Wagga Christian College, Wagga High and Willans Hill School. There will also be performances from students of the Riverina Conservatorium of Music. The Mayoress’ Charity Concert, The Supernova, is on Saturday, 10 August 2019 at 2pm and 7.30pm at the Civic Theatre Wagga Wagga. Book tickets in person at the
