It’s been a fun season for t he R iver s Gi rl s Rugby Team keeping their title this season a s u ndefeated i n t he Westman High School R u g b y L e a g ue. T he team had quite a few rookies joining them in 15’s this year and they wer e we lc ome d w it h open arms; fitting right in. The rookies were as follows Cassendra Moar, Briel Lemoing, Payton McNish, Jacee Jewar, Karas Munz, Mia Lepp, Elle Mclean, Madison Vandal, Kennedy Wood, Sierra Bourdin, Shirley Johnson and Stephanie Wolkosk i! W hile welcoming these rookies we are in turn also saying good bye for now to our senior g irls. We w ish Alexis Pompana, Alissa Janz, Brooklyn Zemliak, Brianne Zemliak, and Emma Austin all the best in their next chapters and hope to see them around the rugby pitch. Championship game Last week on June 3rd the girls won the championship game played against The Dauphin Clippers who have made four f inal appearances in league history but are still chasing that championship win. What an exciting game it was, but our girls battled hard and came out on top winning with a final score of 20-7.
