The Cross-Town had been vacant for two years, and Keith, although Manager at the Farmer’s Co-op Seed Cleaning Plant, thought it was a sound investment and would be a good hobby. He then re-opened the garage and fuel station changing the name to Cross-Town Drive Inn, selling fuel under the Tempo name. There was a small lunch bar, in what we know today as the Lounge. There was also a drive-through pick-up window at the back that, at one time also had car-hops, although that was before the Lambs’ ownership. At that time, Keith promised Margaret that they would never operate the restaurant and that it would remain leased out. In the next couple years, he not only opened the restaurant, he made it bigger, added on two washrooms and extended the back kitchen. He applied for a liquor license, converted the lunch bar into a lounge, and never looked back. In 1984, the business had grown and Keith made the decision to quit the Seed
