A New Experience: Bald Eagle Awareness Weekends
Have you ever experienced the breathtaking beauty of bald eagles soaring on wings that spread six feet from wingtip to wingtip? Did you know that bald eagles were added to the federal endangered and threatened species list in 1967? Though they were on the brink of extinction, through conservation efforts and environmental education, bald eagles were removed from this list in 2007. For 35 years, Lake Guntersville State Park’s Eagle Awareness Weekends has been educating thousands of park guests about these amazing creatures.
