Primary School All students are encouraged to become creative, critical thinkers with a passion for learning. With the goal of enabling students to be able to solve problems in the real world, Michael Fullan’s 6 Cs ( character, citizenship, creativity, communication, collaboration and critical thinking ) are skills that are crucial to education and deeply embedded in all aspects of planning and teaching. Rivermount College recognises the importance and value of providing resources, strategies and practices to support students in overcoming barriers to learning and development. Students who have a diagnosed learning condition require support to access the curriculum at their level. Our learning support teachers and teacher aides provide support to students both in class and on a withdrawal basis. Support is also provided to teachers to ensure consistency and continuity for students on a modified program. A quality differentiated program is the key to providing enrichment activities within all classroom curriculum programs. STEM initiatives are a key component to developing the deep scientific, mathematical and problem- solving skills and processes that students require to be competitive in the workforce. All students in the Primary School engage in an array of specialist lessons including Japanese, Music, Health and Physical Education as well as participating in Library visits, interaction with technology and engagement in Indigenous history and culture.
