BILLINGSLEA RECOVERY RESIDENCE,

a long-term residential service of River Edge Behavioral Health, provides a supportive alcohol and drug free environment for men over the age of 21. Persons served receive evidence-based treatment and recovery services that promote resilience, optimal wellness, and employment opportunities as well as self-advocacy and life skills. Most residents complete treatment within 9-12 months.

SERVICES

Community living is an integral part of the recovery residence experience. Individuals served participate in group counseling and skills-training while in the communal living setting. Individual therapy is also offered to address unresolved issues that may have contributed to previous substance use.

Billingslea’s dedicated and knowledgeable staff assists persons served in the development of skills that aid recovery. Services include:

ADMISSION CRITERIA The Billingslea Recovery Residence is designed for men ages 21 and over who have received detoxification treatment and are unable to discontinue harmful substance use without assistance. Admission assessment also includes Tuberculosis screening and nursing assessment.

Residents must complete assigned daily living tasks and care for their own personal hygiene.

Any complex medical or mental health conditions must be stabilized prior to admission.

RECOVERY SUPPORT IN THE COMMUNITY Billingslea residents are required to attend 12-Step or other community-based support meetings. This involvement guides a better understanding of holistic and healthy recovery, helps each man develop a social network supportive of recovery, gives him opportunities to practice positive social skills without chemicals, and more.
