The Poseidon counts as one of the pioneers of classic motorized sailing boat cruises. When captain Toni Gulić built the MS Poseidon in 1973, it was the first vessel ever, which was constructed specially for vacation cruises purposes, and was not a reconstruction of a former cargo ship. For over 40 years, together with her captain Toni Gulić, the Poseidon has been cutting through the waves among the islands of the Adriatic Sea, taking its passengers from one amazing place to another. His son Kristijan, after having supported him for a couple of years, took over the helm, while Toni retired and is now enjoying his wellearned retirement in his hometown on the island of Rab. In summer 2016, Kristijan decided to sell MS Poseidon and to buy a larger vessel – the MS Maček. The list of prospective customers for MS Poseidon was quite long, but we insisted that the boat should stay with the Gulić
family and continue her long tradition. Starting from 2017, MS Poseidon is going to be steered by captain Toni Bačić, who is the son-inlaw of Kristijan’s brother-in-law. With over ten years of experience in cruise tourism, Toni could definitely be called a salty old sea dog. He is supported by his wife Iva, who as daughter of a captain literally grew up on a boat.
