Director's Message It is a good gesture to the students of AEIE who have taken initiative to organize an Alumni Association of AEIE department as a part of the Netaji Subhash Engineering College.

I am very much pleased to appreciate the widespread activities of our students.Our AEIE student's initiatives in the cultural arenas are echoed mainly through "Aikatan" their Alumni Association.We are certainly delighted to note that AKSHAR the annual yearbook of AEIE under the agesis of Aikatan will be published shortly.

I hope their sincere effort and continuous endeavor will help them to reach their cherished goal.

From the HOD's Desk The adage “Fortune favours the bold� is very true in the case of AEIE NSEC. There is nothing... absolutely nothing that stops the AEIE family from rolling forward, going on boldly from one project to another... leaving the spectators spell-bound.

It gives me immense pleasure that the NSEC AEIE students and staffs going to publish their first departmental magazine with multipurpose aspirations for the betterment of the department. . A department may reach heights of glory but without materials like a college magazine, the outside world may not know of it. A magazine carries the contributions reflecting ethos and aspirations of the students, faculty and other team members of an institution.I extend my thanks to all the contributors for their articles, poems and drawings.

I wish this maiden attempt all success. Let there be more contributions in future.

I always keep telling my students how I relive my college days through them. The endless giggles... meaningless murmers...and to top it all the enormous gush of fresh enthusiasm... All these instill a lot of life in me. Hence I never miss an opportunity to interact with them and involve myself in any of their activities. When these bunch of happy friends (I prefer to call my students by this name only) requested me to edit their magazine for Samhar 2018, I accepted it without a second thought and the experience has been amazing...with the flurry of new ideas in the articles and poems. This batch of AEIE 2018 would remain extremely special to me for a number of reasons. No matter where they go...what they do...I would stumble and smile with all the memories I've collected in these four years with you...for years to come. Thank you all for giving so much life to me. APPLIED ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION DEPARTMENT

The department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (AEIE)was established in the academic year 20052006 with an intake of 60 students and it offers a four-year B Tech degree program under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT, formerly WBUT), West Bengal. The department has about 260 EIE students and a team of twelve (12) highly qualified, young and research minded faculty and staff members are actively involved for this Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering program. The faculty members of the department are involved in Research and Development activities with the state-of-the-art technologies in the emerging fields of engineering including Spintronics, Sensor Signal Conditioning Systems, Electronic Instrumentation and Measurement, Cognitive Radio, Power Quality Measurement, Multivalued logics and opto-electronics & electro-optic devices.

A Sweeter After Taste The lingering autumn sun played quite a companion to the smell of butter in the air as a myriad of people, rather hastily, treaded about the fair. Amidst them, I, waist-high ( of the average man ), squeezed out, still both enticed and baffled, on how the illusionist beguiled me with his card trick.

Thecaesura of the rhythmic shuffle of feet saw my mother and my elder sister finish off their Ferris wheel ride and close in on me. Our reunion was abruptly halted by the cry of the vendor desperate to sell candy floss, as if it was mandatory for every child to have. My mother made that an offer, as a reward for being the obedient child I was, and I, rather stoically nodded. Although I wasn't much of a sweet tooth, even then, I was quite enthralled by the procedure of its making. It seemed that those ill shaped cotton pieces almost indulged themselves in a whirlpool of dance to form something of a sartorial equivalent of a thin bush.

While I was having my fair share of delight, I saw a little boy behind the vendor, with hair that looked like freshly mown grass. He wore ragged shorts and a shirt failing to hold colour against the torture of detergent washes. As the maker was finishing up, he longingly stared at my cotton. I, not being a fan, walked up towards him and handed it over, rather hesitantly. In all probability, it was our only meeting, but the smile on his face assured that it was sweeter than any candy and it was oddly settling.

To this day, a candy floss has been a constant reminder of compassion and goodwill to me. I still haven't been able to outwit the magician, though!

"And that has made All the difference" There are many memories from college which I treated as my second home during those days. Can't describe in 100 words. But specially I remember the time we used to spend with friends & professors who used to help us get over the semesters & practical exams.

Without there support today I would have stood no where. There were times spent with friends and seniors (of other department specially IT & CSE) at canteen & college fest which reminds me how we used to share knowledge & work together to get over the hurdles.

Through the looking glass I started my Television journey with Doordarshan.

During my NSEC days, I went for an audition of Anurag Basu's reality show ‘K HOBE BIGGEST FAN’. To my surprise, I got shortlisted. Initially I was lagging on the scoreboard, but with God's grace and the wellwishes of my NSECian mates, I geared up for the finals and became the Champion representing Bengal.

Soon after this, I passionately took up hosting shows on television. I got a call from a Mumbai film producer Gajendar Singh and was bestowed with the opportunity of hosting with Swastika Mukherjee, Rajatava Dutta, Anjan Dutta, Monali Thakur and many more. Right after my semesters, I got an invitation to Ghosh & Co. by Rituparno Ghosh on STAR JALSHA. But the finest of the lot I would say is my Dadagiri Unlimited experience. It was a memorable experience when Dada himself was encouraging me on & off the camera saying: “Suvayan, I know you can”.And God made it happen making me the Champion of Dadagiri Season 6.The journey continues inside TCS as well. But for all these, I remain grateful to the continuous support of my NSEC faculty, my NSEC juniors-turned-friends, my starting point – my NSEC.I believe it’s because of their unlimited well wishes, I am here today. Thank you NSEC ……………

' । ***************************************** তেখয়ত তেখয়ত ি​ির ুরয়ত চে​ে । দেনবন্দন জীিন চেয়ত োগে বনয়জর তরায়ত । তসবেন ক্লায়স খুি তিবশ তিয়েয়িয়ে আয়সবন । ক্লাসরুয়ি ঢু য়ক্ ক্া​াঁয়ধর তেয়ক্ িযাগটা নাবিয়ে তিয়ের উপর রাখয়ো অপা । েুেবক্ চায়ে সারা ক্লাসরুিটাে এক্টু পােচাবর ক্রবিে তস । হঠাৎ ক্য়রই তচাখেুয়টা আটয়ক্ তগে বতন হাত েূয়রর এক্টা তিয়ের বেয়ক্ । এক্টা িযায়গর পায়শ এক্টা ক্যােকুয়েটর রাখা । িযাগটা রাহুয়ের না ?! এ তহহ্ ! এরক্ি তক্োরয়েস তের িয়তা তক্উ িযায়গর িাইয়র ক্যােকুয়েটর রায়খ !! তয তক্ায়না িুহূয়ত্ হাবরয়ে তযয়ত পায়র । এই তভয়ি ক্যােকুয়েটর টা হায়ত বনয়ে িযায়গ তঢাক্ায়ত তগে অপা । হঠাৎ , বক্ িয়ন হে এক্িার ভায়ো ক্য়র তেখয়ো ক্যােকুয়েটর টা । তচনা তচনা োগয়ি না ! বিয়শষ ক্য়র ক্যােকুয়েটয়রর তক্ানাে ওই ষা োগটা ... এক্বেন অপার হাত তেয়ক্ পয়ড় বগয়ে ঠিক্ ওই এক্ইরক্ি এক্টা োগ হয়ে বগয়েবিে অপার পুয়রায়না ক্যােকুয়েটরটাে .... তয়ি বক্ ...। ফযােফযাে ক্য়র ক্যােকুয়েটরটার বেয়ক্ তাবক্য়ে আয়ি অপা । - ' বনয়ে তনি ক্যােকুয়েটর টা !? বনয়ে বনই ? এটা ততা আিারই , বনয়ে ক্ষবত বক্ ?? ' - ' বনয়ত পাবরস , চু বর বিেযা িহাবিেযা যবে না পয়ড়া ধরা ! ' - ' বক্ন্তু তসটা ততা চু বর ক্রা হয়ি ! আবি চু বর ক্রয়িা ! অপরাবজতা িুখাবজ্ চু বর ক্রয়ি !! ' .... িয়নর িয়ধয দ্বন্দ্ব শুরু হয়ে তগয়ি অপার , তয়ি তসটা তিবশক্ষণ চোর সুয়যাগ তপে না । - ' বক্য়র ? হা​াঁ ক্য়র তেখবিস টা বক্ ?? তে , আিার ক্যােকুয়েটর টা তে । ' িয়ে এক্রক্ি রাে খপাস্ ক্য়র অপার হাত তেয়ক্ তক্য়ড় বনে রাহুে তার বনয়জর ক্যােকুয়েটর টা । - ' ইয়ে িায়ন না আসয়ে ... িায়ন ততার ক্যােকুয়েটর টা এরক্ি িযায়গর িাইয়র পয়ড়বিে ততা , তাই ঢু বক্য়ে বেয়ত যাবে​োি আর বক্ ! ' ভযািাচযাক্া তখয়ে উির বে​ে অপা । এতটা ভযািাচযাক্া জীিয়ন এই রেি তখে তিাধহে !! রাহুে এক্টা িুচবক্ হাবস হাসে , তারপর গটগট ক্য়র ক্া​াঁয়ধ িযাগ তফয়ে তিবরয়ে তগে ক্লাসরুি তেয়ক্ । তসই পরীক্ষার বেন রাহুয়ের ও ততা এক্ই এক্সয়পবরয়িন্ট পয়ড়বিে , এক্সায়ে পারফি্ ক্য়রবিে ওরা .... । *****************************************
