b Challenge Cup
It is with a great pleasure we welcome you at Champions Hill, the home of the famous Dulwich Hamlet Football Club, to celebrate what is already our 2nd anniversary since we wrote our first risk, back in May 2021.
Today is the day to thank all of you.
To our brokers who trusted us in our early days through today to look after our common clients’ D&O's interests.
To our eco-system partners, a diverse group of companies, all leaders in their sectors, with whom we have partnered to build our unique and proprietary trading platform. Ranging from the ability to write business using regulated insurance licenses, to first class underwriting capital to bear the risks we underwrite, to the many tech leaders with whom we have designed and developed a market leading tech and data led platform. To the finance and actuarial experts we work with. And to the various solicitors who accompany us on corporate law, regulations, and who form our claim advisory network.
To the members of the press and communication world who have kindly covered our first steps with curiosity and with their pointed questions and helped establish our brand.
To our Competitors as well – of course in the early days we had to deal with a few elbows, fair game! No Yellow card to anyone. We are now able to constructively play a role in the market to service our common brokers and clients.
The market needed all of us, and will continue to need all of us.
And to our Rising Edge team and non-exec Directors; who have shown the courage and entrepreneurial vision to join what was a start up in 2021, and what is now an established player in the London market, expanding across Europe and onto new lines of business.
Without this vast group of talented people, we would not all be here today. To all of you: Thank You!
And what makes our collective success important, is that this success is enabling us to look ahead with confidence and excitement. Not only in terms of strategic expansion across segments and markets. But because our success has given us the opportunity to do things differently, and to occasionally do something extra. Like our association with Dulwich Hamlet FC, with whom we share so many values and aspirations.
So… we are delighted with your presence, and are looking forward to enjoy this day with you. Let’s turn this event into a nice tradition where the market can meet in a relaxed and friendly environment off and on the pitch!

SINCE 1893
One hundred and thirty years ago a group of locals led by football enthusiast called Lorraine ‘Pa’ Wilson formed Dulwich Hamlet to play in the the new ‘Dulwich League’.
Later in the Isthmian League the club thrived, becoming known for it's friendly atmosphere and for winning multiple league and amatuer cup titles.
The Hamlet first played at Champion Hill in 1902 and stadium as you see it today was opened in 1992. It is to be replaced in the coming years by a new 4,000 capacity stadium which will be built behind the tall trees at the west end of the ground.
Amongst the many club legends Edgar Kail stands out. Between 1915 and 1933 Kail scored 427 goals, turned down professional contracts to stay here and he remains the last non-league player to turn out for the English national team – three times – which included him scoring in a match against France.
Famous recent ex-players include current Brentford defender Ethan Pinnock and Peter Crouch – although the latter was only here on loan from Spurs for seven games.
For 130 years The Hamlet have hovered around the upper tiers of non-league football, reasonably laying claim to being the most successful club never to acheive league status.
The last decade has seen the club rise up two leagues and attendances boom. Saturday men’s home matches regularly sell out the 3,300 capacity, and Sunday women’s matches often see 500 attend. Our average attendances are by far the highest of the two team’s respective leagues.
Dulwich Hamlet is a community football club, fan and supporter owned and run with 30% of it’s shares currently owned by the Supporter’s Trust. The Club, Trust and fans actively support many local community and charity initiatives as well as anti-racism, pro-diversity and inclusion campaigns. The club is also home to successful comedy and gig nights.
Rising Edge is a proud sponsor of Dulwich Hamlet FC.
We regularly sponsor individual matches so if you’d like to join us to watch a match here please contact isabel.alvarez@risingedge.co
