Architecture statement of interest

This letter is to serve as a statement of interest regarding the pursuit of my post secondary education at Laurentian University’s McEwen school of architecture, for the 2021 fall term. This program will help get my foot in the door towards my vision of heading into the architecture career field. After reviewing the course content online, I am beyond doubt that I have a high interest in what this program offers in correlation with my passion of becoming a leader within the architecture industry. When going out in public, it is habitual for me to find myself assessing different surroundings and conceptualizing them as to how they could be either improved in the sense of visuals, or in the sense of efficiency. I often tend to pause for a moment and visualize changes that could provide the structure more life in general. This means mentally imaging landscapes, lighting or small additional details to capture the beauty of design which are born within us. As American industrial designer, Charles Eames said, “Recognizing the need is the primary condition for design. I could not stand behind this quote to any further extent. It truly fascinates me how quickly our society is developing; this gives architects the opportunity to utilize a combination of remote and contemporary techniques to keep up to the rapid pace at which our plant evolves every single day. The opportunity in hand of combining styles from cultures all over the globe make me itch to grab a pencil and piece of paper and start to create. I understand the practice of architecture is complex and precise. I give it my all to stay disciplined and push my capabilities to new heights, which is why this program will allow me to excel beyond my current capabilities and unlock loads of new potential, creating and learning every day. One thing is for sure, this once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to combine my passion for art and design with my studies is something I will never take for granted. To me, doing something I love does not feel like work, instead a blessing to have the chance to execute something whilst enjoying and benefitting greatly from it. I have a lot to offer when it comes to my personality as well as my work ethic. Please allow me the fortuity to pursue my education at the next level. Thank you. Sincerely, Riley.
