A Message from the President and CEO Greetings, It is with extreme pleasure that I welcome you to the 33rd Annual Ridgeview Foundation Golf & Taste Celebration.

This is my first Golf & Taste event as Ridgeview’s president and CEO, and I continue to be inspired by the outpouring of support we receive from our community.

Over the years, this wonderful celebration has united our friends and neighbors to work toward one goal: to make a significant difference in the quality of health care for patients and their families in the southwest metro.

Since the Golf & Taste Celebration first began in 1986, you’ve helped us raise more than $11.3 million, which has funded important initiatives that help Ridgeview to provide world-class health care. These initiatives include Ridgeview’s Women’s Imaging & Breast Center, Cardiac/ Intensive Care Unit, Birthing Center, the Minneapolis Heart Institute® at Ridgeview Heart Center and much more.

Funds raised at this year’s celebration will continue to support our Lifeline for a Lifetime campaign, which includes the renovation and expansion of Ridgeview’s Norman and Ann Hoffman Emergency Center. These upgrades will allow our emergency services teams to provide our community members with faster triage, improved treatment and enhanced lifesaving procedures.

Please know that every financial and volunteer contribution from this wonderful event matters to Ridgeview – YOU matter here, and we’re happy to celebrate this important day with you.

Years of Making a Vital Contribution Golf & Taste Celebration proceeds have funded numerous capital projects, patient care equipment, health information for the community, scholarships for aspiring health care students, fetal monitors and more.

Proceeds from this year’s event will support the renovation of Ridgeview’s Norman and Ann Hoffman Emergency Center in Waconia.

Patients rave about the overwhelming compassion they receive from Ridgeview but say the Emergency Department environment could be better­—and are pleased that Ridgeview is taking action to enhance this important area.

This expansion will allow Ridgeview’s emergency services to remain as a premier resource in the Twin Cities—providing a great resource for the communities we serve and attracting the best staff. This exciting new project will allow for faster triage and treatment, and enhance the capacity to provide lifesaving procedures and treatments.

Please support the Lifeline for a Lifetime campaign, and rally around courageous patients to improve Ridgeview’s Norman and Ann Hoffman Emergency Center experience and key amenities that will mean so much—for when the unexpected happens.

Patient Thankful for Lifesaving Care Watertown man grateful for quick, compassionate emergency care.

Steve Gravelle woke up before sunrise one morning in February 2016 fighting for every breath. He thought he had a stubborn case of pneumonia that wasn’t responding to medication. His wife Luann wanted to call an ambulance, but Steve insisted they could drive themselves fifteen minutes from their home in Watertown to the Ridgeview Medical Center Emergency Department in Waconia.

When Steve arrived, the emergency team gave him oxygen to ease his breathing and warm blankets to make him comfortable. An x-ray and a CT scan revealed a collapsed lung, but also revealed something unexpected—a tumor, most likely cancerous.

Shock and fear consumed Steve and Luann’s initial thoughts, but the Ridgeview team gave the Gravelles hope as they reviewed possible treatment plans. “I really needed to know what my options were,” Steve explained. “I wanted to live—I wanted to know what it was going to take for me to live.”

Steve and Luann, who have eight children and six grandchildren, appreciated how quickly and compassionately the emergency services team managed Steve’s lung cancer diagnosis. Steve moved directly from the Emergency Department to a hospital room and prepared for surgery to remove his lung. After surgery, Steve endured several outpatient chemotherapy treatments.

Just three months after his emergency visit, Steve received his “all-clear.” He remains cancer free.

“I am healthy, I am back to work, and I am grateful,” Steve said.

“I smoked for years, so I was worried if my one remaining lung would be able to support me. I’m impressed by the doctors who have helped me and the body’s ability to recover.”

Luann shares Steve’s gratitude and looks forward to the future with their growing family (grandchild number seven is on the way). “We just keep living life, a grateful life,” Luann explained.

Giving Clubs & Memberships Every week, premature babies are saved, elderly patients comforted, bones mended, illnesses diagnosed and lives saved thanks in part to the generous philanthropy of individuals and corporations in our caring communities. FOUNDER’S SOCIETY This distinguished group of benefactors helps to enhance the health and well-being of the people in the communities served by Ridgeview Medical Center and Ridgeview Clinics. Founder’s Society members make individual commitments of $10,000 or greater, which can be paid at one time or through a payment program over a period of years.

There are almost 400 Founder’s Society members who cumulatively have gifted or committed more than $29 million and have nearly $5.7 million in outstanding pledges.

How to Become a Member Gifts may be made in the form of cash, publicly traded securities, appreciated property and, if appropriate, in-kind gifts. Most often, naming opportunities will exist at various levels within each campaign. Commitments can be paid over a period of years or in a one-time gift.

Live Auction Agreement

GOLF & TASTE CELEBRATION

1. To bid, simply raise your bid number high for the auctioneer to see. By bidding in the live auction, you agree to be bound by the terms of this auction agreement.

2. The auctioneer reserves the right to add or withdraw items to or from the auction without notice.

3. A bid acknowledged by the auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase the item if the bid is the final, winning bid. If you bid on an item and win it, you agree to pay for the item won, in full, by the end of the evening.

4. All purchases are final and there are no refunds. Further, no exchanges or substitutions are allowed unless the description of an item expressly provides for one.

No refunds will be allowed on travel packages for canceled tickets or accommodations.

5. Unless the description of an item expressly provides otherwise, all vacations and services must be claimed and used within one year of the auction date, and all vacation accommodations must be mutually agreed upon with the donor.

6. All items are sold “as is.� Ridgeview Foundation disclaims all expressed and implied warranties including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. If you purchase an item, you waive all claims for damages and liability against Ridgeview Foundation, Ridgeview Medical Center and the donor of the item, that arise or may arise, in whole or part, from the utilization of the property or services you purchased.

7. You are responsible for locating and removing your purchases from the auction premises before the end of the evening. If you purchase a service or other non-tangible item and the certificate for the item is not available at the auction, it will be mailed to you within one week of the auction.

8. Ridgeview Foundation will automatically charge your credit card unless otherwise directed by the winning bidder. Winning bidders who have registered their credit cards at registration will have their credit cards billed for their auction totals at the end of the evening.

9. Payments are tax deductible as a charitable contribution only to the extent provided by law. Generally, you may deduct as a charitable contribution the amount you pay above the fair market value of the item purchased. Please consult your tax professional.

Silent Auction: Electronic Bidding BRING YOUR FULLY CHARGED CELL PHONE/TABLET 1. Register Your Cell Phone at the Event: To place bids on auction items or to make a donation, register with a Gesture Pro member in gray. Gesture Pro staff members will be present at the event to be your “personal shopper” if you prefer not to bid via your cell phone/tablet.

2. Bid via SMARTPHONE: Click the BLUE link in your welcome text message and it will take you to your personal bidding page. Click on an item you would like to bid on. The Gesture smart system repopulates with the next minimum bid so all you have to do is push BID. If you’d like to go higher, just enter a new amount and push BID. To have the Gesture smart system automatically bid for you to a designated amount, please select AUTO and enter a higher amount. The system will bid for you incrementally up until your designated amount only if someone bids against you.

3. Bid via TEXT: To see current bid, reply to your welcome text and simply text the 3-digit item number. Example: “102“ then press Send. Then, text the 3 digit item number and amount you would like to bid. No dollar signs ($) needed. Example: “102 300“ then press Send. You placed a $300 bid on item number 102.

Designed by women for women, each year this fun event draws more than 200 women to be inspired by captivating expert speakers, nourished by a gourmet nutritional breakfast buffet and empowered with the latest integrative approaches for achieving a healthy balance in daily living. Participants enjoy fresh, new, interactive learning in camaraderie with health-minded women. Funds raised from this event support important Ridgeview’s women’s health services.
