GLOSSARY Communication: the imparting or exchanging of information by speaking, writing or using some other medium; the successful conveying or sharing of ideas and feelings. Sender: the individual who initiates a message intended for the receiver. Receiver: the person to whom a message is directed to. Message: the information that the sender wants to relay to the receiver. Verbal Communication: the use of sounds and words to express yourself. Non-Verbal Communication: communication without the use of spoken language (gestures, facial expressions, etc.) Active Listening: the act of fully hearing and comprehending the meaning of what someone else is saying.
