The US Mens Hockey Team’s Strong Season By Richard Carroll

The US men’s ice hockey team finished their Olympic season in Silver. In the gold medal match against Canada, Crosby scored to win the gold for Canada in overtime. The loss was heartbreaking for the men’s team as they wished to live up to the legendary “Miracle on Ice” team that astonishingly defeated the highly favored USSR, to go on to win the gold against Finland. Though the team would not take the gold, they would return home to thunderous applause by their beloved fans and fellow Americans. The American Olympic team would come out with the most Olympic medals at these 2010 games in Vancouver, 37, and nine gold medals. Although the team would not come home with the gold around their necks, it certainly speaks volumes to what will come in 2014 in Sochi.
