Portraits of people from Ruili, southern China by Roobén Goode.The photos were taken in Ruili City and Banyang village in the Dehong Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China.The prevalence of HIV is proportionally high in this area, due to heroin trafficking. The photographer Roobén came here with his parents to work alongside children affected by these issues. Roobén Goode was born in Homerton Hospital on May the 9th 2000. Roobén took all these photos except the ones that he is in — on the back cover and in the group portrait.We are especially grateful to Yang Liuying and photographer & translator Suzy Xu Shuang for their help whilst there.
