I have been involved in the Building/Construction Industry for over 50 years and developed a deep understanding of both Commercial and Residential properties.
In 2004, I saw an opportunity and started my career in Real Estate. I thought it was time to tap my personal experiences of having worn the buyer's, seller's, landlord's, and leaser's hats.

I've been President of Temple Israel of Lawrence and am currently an active Board Member. I have also been involved with UJA, Nassau County Bridge Authority, the Five Towns Community Chest, LI Board of Realtors, NY State Board of Realtors, LI Commercial Network and I retired after 25 years of service from the United States Selective Service Board.

2024 is going to be a big year for real estate on Long Island and #SaraSellsLI is full steam ahead. We’re kicking off this report with some exciting news. We are celebrating Sara Abikzer marking 25 years as a licensed real estate salesperson Sara said, “When I started out, I went all in and dedicated myself to being the best I could be. I was a people person who was hungry and determined to make a living by serving and building the community. 25 years and hundreds of houses, I’m still me, I just keep thinking bigger and working harder. Many clients who were with me at the beginning have stayed with me through every move they have made since. I still have unexpected experiences. Recently I was doing an open house and when I went to my car I found a note from a neighbor. It said ”Please call me, I might be interested in selling” and they did! Another client relocated here from across the country after a big life change. She thanked me and said I had changed her life. I was so moved knowing I had made a difference. Each transaction brings special value to my heart and business.”
We came into 2024 with high interest rates, a great demand for houses in the 5 Towns and very low inventory. Sara started to make matches between buyers and sellers. Sara said, “Buyers were nervous about the rates and how few options were available. Sellers knew the low inventory was an opportunity to get top dollar. Once I made the right match, buyers made their decisions quickly, knowing their home was going to be their best investment and over time, refinancing could be an option. My job is to take my buyers and sellers step by step from listing all the way to the closing table. I get them prepared and make the process easier for them. But I continue to have some homes where there is no time for that. I sold one client’s house to the neighbors who lived directly across the street. As a result, I was privileged to become their listing agent as well. The home was photographed to be listed but we never made it to the market.
I had a pre-qualified buyer who bought the house that same day. That was one of a bunch of houses that never hit the market. They went from listing to contract in under a week. The buyers and sellers both walked away from the closing table with the right price and smiles on their faces. I have toured over a thousand homes in the community. I know their history, their lot size, their architecture and what’s happening on each block. That knowledge combined with getting to houses before they are listed and having so many qualified buyers continues to be a winning combination for me.”
2024 is going to be big for new construction & developers. Hewlett has small town energy where neighbors look out for each other. Broadway’s once shuttered storefronts are now robust with boutiques, restaurants, banks and salons. Residents support small businesses by shopping locally. Sara and her husband, Louis, have participated in the annual “One World” event since it began. We all learn so much in one night and it’s fun to catch up with so many clients and friends who have become entrenched in the community.” We also have beautiful parks, a public ice skating rink, close proximity to beaches, walking distance to houses of worship and you are steps away from the LIRR which provides easy access to Brooklyn and Manhattan.
