Letter from the Chamber

a message from the east meaDoW Chamber presiDent

Dear East Meadow residents,

The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce and all our members are proud to be part of this East Meadow guide and part of the community. The chamber is made up of more than 230 businesses, organizations and civic members that help, service and promote East Meadow. We are in our 68th year, and we continue to grow. We work together to improve our whole community, located in the Meadow east of the Meadowbrook Parkway, consisting of the hamlets of East Meadow and Salisbury. We help develop and maintain relationships and act as a liaison between local businesses, various levels of government and neighboring chambers. In short, the East Meadow Chamber strives to help businesses grow, and to create a business-friendly environment that ensures our community will be a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family, as many of our members do all of these.

The East Meadow Chamber , with the help of state and local officials, created the East Meadow Town Square at TOH Veterans Memorial Park, which has become a gathering place for residents to enjoy, as well as a venue for local events, such as our very own annual Easter Egg Hunt and Holiday Lighting Ceremony. This year we will be having our first Fall Festival Sept. 15 to Sept. 18 at Eisenhower Park.

The East Meadow Chamber holds regular monthly meetings — primarily on the first Wednesday of the month — which allows our members great networking opportunities. We also host networking events, Shop Local programs, participate in an annual Memorial Day Parade, Trunk and Treat, and our East Meadow Pride Day.

The East Meadow Chamber puts up snowflakes during holiday time, and American Flags starting Memorial Day through Labor Day down East Meadow Avenue. Each year we also give out four scholarships to graduating seniors from East Meadow High School and W.T. Clarke, and have helped with football cards, and both the fall and spring sports brochures.

Enclosed in this guide is a list of all members. They ask for your support. Our success allows us to give back to the community to sponsor Little Leagues and many other worthy organizations. If you would like more information, please call the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce office at (516) 794-3727, or visit us at EastMeadowChamber.com. Thank you to the East Meadow community for helping supporting our local businesses.
