Former Wantagh resident Kaitlin Maniscalco has developed a platform to teach people, specifically women, the ins and outs of professional sports. T h e 2 4 - ye a r- o l d h a s d e ve l o p e d a 190,000-person following on her TikTok account, “AskKait,” where she holds forth on topics ranging from pop culture to technical terms in athletics. “My last six months, my entire life kind of changed a little bit,” Maniscalco said. “I

started posting a lot more consistently on TikTok, found a niche where I was struggling with views for three to four months, and I was just trying to find different ways to tell stories.” Capital One invited Maniscalco to the World Series in Texas last fall on a brand deal, providing her access to on-field reporting opportunities. When she arrived, she was told she would be conducting a meetand-greet with none other than former Yankees great Derek Jeter. “I worked with a lot of athletes before, but Continued on page 11
