Welcome What a wonderful year! I have been truly blessed to spend time with many of you in the mountains, on the stunning island of Samos and on board Richmond’s new cruise, travelling the Croatian coastline from Split to Dubrovnik. Our focus for Summer 2016 is on quality; we have been busy refining and improving our holidays in all areas to ensure you will enjoy the perfect time away.

Our Ministry Leaders Conference in October 2015 was incredible. It gave us a chance to come together, give thanks to the Lord and look at how we can best deliver times of worship, ministry and pastoral care in a holiday environment.

It wouldn’t be a Richmond holiday without our exceptional staff teams who always go the extra mile and consistently receive outstanding feedback. With the introduction of mountain bikes in Samos, higher specification boats in Croatia as well as re-designed menus in Samos and the French Alps, you will leave refreshed, re-energised and inspired. Ministry Ministry is an integral part of all our holidays. From starting each day in prayer – whether in resort or in the office – to the ethos of the staff teams employed, having Jesus at the centre of everything we do is essential. Every day, there is an opportunity to pause and meet together, with a time of worship and Bibleled teaching. It is our prayer that everybody feels enriched and refreshed in their Christian walk throughout their holiday.

Kids & Teens 21 JUL to 01 SEP During the school holidays, Richmond offers an exciting and dynamic programme of activities and ministry for Kids (4-11y) and Teens (12-17y). This is an opportunity for your children to have fun with their friends, whilst playing and learning in a friendly, safe atmosphere, led and encouraged by Richmond’s enthusiastic team.

Something for Students 07 to 21 JUL In Samos, on top of all of our usual excursions and ministry times, we are running two weeks with extra activities aimed at 16-25 year olds. Richmond’s dedicated student workers will lead a tailored programme including evening trips into local towns, plenty of sporting opportunities and fun at our RYA watersports centre. This will be a great time for students to unwind and relax following their hard work over the summer term.

Daily Excursions There is a great selection of hand-picked fascinating excursions available during your holiday, whether you want to go white water rafting along a glacial river in the French Alps, visit the famous tea rooms in Malta or travel to the ancient city of Ephesus from Samos. Additionally, we run a variety of popular Themed Weeks in some of our resorts (see pages 08-09).

Island of Samos, Greece Samos is a tranquil and unspoilt Greek island set in the eastern Aegean Sea and is a spectacular place to enjoy the ambience typical of a glorious Greek summer. Located in Mykali Bay along the south east coast is our flagship resort, the friendly, family-run Zefiros Beach Hotel. Relax on a sun lounger at the beach or by the large swimming pool with its poolside bar and cafĂŠ. Also, enjoy the selection of Richmond-run activities and excursions available, from exercise classes and waterpolo to visiting nearby towns for a glass of Samos sweet wine by the sea.

The Richmond RYA waterfront offers dinghy and catamaran sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and new for this year, stand-up paddle boarding. We can cater for all tastes and abilities, from beginner windsurfing to advanced sailing with a spinnaker or a relaxing paddle along the coast. The location of Mykali Bay offers great wind conditions with something for everyone. This summer we will also be running mountain biking trips, led

by Richmond staff who will guide you past stunning views on wonderful routes during the cooler parts of the day. Additionally, there will be tennis coaching available so that you can work on your serve or enjoy a match with other competitors.

Reberty, French Alps Our resort in Reberty Village is situated at 2,000m in the heart of the Savoie region. The welcoming alpine chalet has stunning views over the mountains which can be admired from the comfort of the cosy lounge or the bubbling outdoor hot tub.

During the winter the Alps are renowned for superb skiing which you might have enjoyed with us. However, once the snow has melted, these mountains change from pure white slopes to flourishing summer meadows with colourful wild flowers, perfect for a range of activities. Ascend the mountains using the chairlift for spectacular views or try your hand at rafting down the rushing melt-water. There is also the chance to explore the majestic peaks and valleys by foot or bike. Regardless of age or fitness levels, there is something for everyone.

Following a fun-filled day you can look forward to a time of ministry and worship each evening before settling down to enjoy a delicious three-course dinner with canapĂŠs and traditional French wines.

Themed Weeks Walking Week “In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.” Psalm 95:4-5 Walking provides a great opportunity to enjoy God’s creation and to explore the beauty surrounding our outstanding resorts. Richmond’s walking weeks are all led by our experienced guides who will take you on stunning routes along mountain trails and beautiful coastlines.

Samos: 26 MAY & 22 SEP 6-8 MILES PER DAY Explore the beautiful island of Samos, rich in culture and history, with a variety of interesting walks. From taking in great views along the mountain roads to visiting pretty fishing villages with great swimming spots and tavernas!

French Alps: 02 JUL 2-4 MILES PER DAY An opportunity to enjoy the stunning Alps on a series of gentle walks from the chalet. With plenty of chances to identify wildflowers, time to take photos and scenic places to stop for a picnic lunch.

French Alps: 09 JUL 5-9 MILES PER DAY The second walking week in the Alps is for those interested in more of a challenge. It will be a chance to explore the mountains and area surrounding the chalet. Enjoy fascinating walks amongst the local flora and wildlife along mountain trails with panoramic viewpoints and sparkling rivers.

Gozo: 16 APR 6-9 MILES PER DAY

Croatian Cruise 14 to 21 MAY & 24 SEP to 01 OCT, SAT ARRIVALS The Croatian coastline is an ideal setting for this stunning cruise, with crystal blue water, remote picturesque islands and beautiful sunsets. Following the success of our first cruise, Richmond has increased the size of the boat, now with 19 ensuite air-conditioned cabins and a larger sun terrace with shaded areas. A tasty breakfast and a three-course lunch is provided on board and in the evenings stroll along the pretty ports to find a quaint local spot for dinner. Excursions during the cruise offer the opportunity to explore national parks, visit vineyards and explore historical sites such as the city of Dubrovnik.

Malta & Gozo 16 to 23 APR & 08 to 22 OCT, SAT & WED ARRIVALS The Mediterranean islands of Malta and Gozo are fantastic holiday destinations where you can relax in the warm sunshine, enjoy an alfresco breakfast and look out onto the beautiful scenery. The St Patricks Hotel in Gozo and The Waterfront Hotel in Malta are both situated just metres from the sparkling sea. Join in on one of the many excursions offered and see these islands’ hidden gems such as the Azure Window, Blue Lagoon or the walled city of Medina. In April, Richmond will be running a Walking Week around the stunning coastline of Gozo (see page 08).

Israel Bible Tour 18 to 26 MAY, WED ARRIVAL Richmond’s Israel Bible tour is a fascinating opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and the early church, visiting places where they lived, worked and carried out ministry. Together, our knowledgeable local guide and Richmond’s experienced leader, Ben Shaw, explain the context and Christian significance of the incredible locations – bringing each site to life.

Following a night in Tel Aviv, the tour travels to The Sea of Galilee where two days are spent visiting places where Jesus began his ministry, such as Bethsaida and Capernaum. Travelling via the Jordan River and Masada to the bustling city of Jerusalem, there will be opportunities to explore the Old City, and retrace Jesus’ steps at The Temple Mount.
