WELCOME TO FUNNVILLE Dear Flying Squirrels Family, Welcome back to your Diamond. It’s hard to believe that 2019 is the TENTH season of Flying Squirrels Baseball. Time flies when you’re having FUNN here on the Boulevard. Thanks to your continued support and enthusiasm, we will welcome our FOUR MILLIONTH FAN at The Diamond this season. We couldn’t have better friends and neighbors. We remain dedicated and committed to the greater Richmond community and love being one of the many great things the RVA has to offer. The City of Richmond is booming and it’s a great time for us to host the Eastern League All-Star Week for the first time in 27 years. The festivities will begin on Sunday, July 7, with a special Kickoff ceremony at Brown’s Island, and, on Monday, July 8, there will be an All-Star Country Music Jam at Virginia Credit Union Live! featuring Big & Rich. Fans can then enjoy a special Celebrity Home Run Derby, Funnville Fanfest and the 2019 Eastern League All-Star Game, at The Diamond, on Tuesday and Wednesday. In 2019, we’ll happily continue our long-term relationship with the San Francisco Giants. As we have done every year, we continue to improve and renovate The Diamond. This season, we’ve added a new high-tech videoboard, which will be attached to our current scoreboard. This videoboard will allow us to show you fun video clips, cartoons and live feeds from around the ballpark. While we’re continuing to better your in-ballpark experience, we remain excited that momentum is continuing toward the new state of the art stadium that RVA and the Squirrels deserve. We are grateful to VCU, the City and neighboring Counties for their cooperation in moving toward this goal. To help celebrate our tenth anniversary, our packed promotional schedule will feature giveaways recognizing ten memorable past players, including Brandon Crawford, Chris Shaw, Brandon Belt, Joe Panik and Steven Duggar. We will also bring back ten memorable past promotions, such as appearances by the Human Cannonball, Legends of Wrestling and Gatorland. I have no doubt that the 2019 season will be the Squirrels’ greatest ever and that we’re all going to have a great time. I look forward to being at The Diamond much more often this year and I can’t wait to spend time with you all. HAVE FUNN, GO NUTS! Enjoy your time here in FUNNVILLE! All the Best,

Lou DiBella President & Managing General Partner Richmond Flying Squirrels Professional Baseball Club 7

HOW TO SCORE A GAME Keep score throughout the game on pages 18 and 19. Fans may already have their own way of scoring, but here is a basic outline: Starting Lineup & Position Numbers Fill in the starting lineup. Starting lineups can be found in the Elephant Insurance Fan Zone posted behind home plate. Each position is assigned a number. These numbers will be used when you record fielding plays • Pitcher - 1 • Second Base - 4 • Left Field - 7 • Catcher - 2 • Third Base - 5 • Center Field - 8 • First Base - 3 • Shortstop - 6 • Right Field - 9 • Designated hitter- DH Scoring Plays Once each batter is finished with his at-bat, fill in what happened in the appropriate inning column next to that player’s name. Shorthand for plays are listed to the right. Here are examples of how to score certain plays: • Ground Out: The third baseman fields the ball and throws to first base for the out. That would be scored as 5-3. • Fly Out: The batter hits a fly out to the left fielder. That would be scored as F-7. Shorthand • Strikeout: Simply write a K if the batter 1B Single strikes out. If the batter strikes out looking (not swinging), then a backward K is is 2B Double used to score. 3B Triple • Single: If the batter hits a single, act as if there is a diamond shape in HR Home Run the scoring box (example below) and draw a BB Walk line to first base. Simply write 1B in the corner. You will use this diamond K Strikeout pattern to chart each runner’s path around Strikeout Looking the bases. • Scoring: If any of the runners end up SB Stolen Base scoring, you will complete the diamond F Fly Out shape and shade it in. FIGHTIN PHILS AT A GLANCE The Reading Fightin Phils feature three former Philadelphia Phillies first-round draft picks, all of whom were top-10 overall picks: Cornelius Randolph (10th overall, 2015), Mickey Moniak (first overall, 2016) and Adam Haseley (eighth overall, 2017). Haseley starred at the University of Virginia, helping the Cavaliers win the College World Series as a freshman in 2015. On the mound, Reading boasts the Phillies’ top pitching prospect in Adonis Medina. The right-hander was added to Philadelphia’s 40-man roster during the offseason. Mauricio Llovera is another arm to keep an eye on — the right-hander is considered the 15th-best prospect in the Phillies organization.

FLYING SQUIRRELS AT A GLANCE Pitching has been the Flying Squirrels’ strength so far this season, featuring three starting pitchers from last year’s rotation: right-hander Logan Webb, left-hander Conner Menez and left-hander Garrett Williams. Webb is considered the fifth-best prospect in the San Francisco Giants rotation according to Baseball America, while Menez checks in at No. 25 and Williams ranks 21st. Jalen Miller has provided an offensive spark through the first two weeks of the season. While he began the season batting second, Miller has been hitting third over his last few games. As of April 14, Miller ranked seventh in the league in batting average (.375) and tied for first in the league in steals (3).

BOULEVARD TO THE BAY DUAL SQUIRRELS DEBUT Aramis Garcia and Chris Shaw both appeared in Richmond in 2017 but didn’t find themselves in the same lineup until the both made their major league debuts with the San Francisco Giants on Aug. 31, 2018 against the New York Mets Shaw, who batted sixth and played left field, collected his first career RBI with a sacrifice fly against Mets right-hander and former Giants farmhand Zack Wheeler, bringing home former Flying Squirrel Brandon Belt with the game’s first run in the seventh inning. Meanwhile, Garcia led off the bottom of the eighth with a home run before batting again later in the inning and driving in a run with a single to center field. He finished the game 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs. Behind the plate, Garcia caught former Flying Squirrels left-hander Andrew Suarez, who twirled seven innings of shutout baseball to help lead the Giants to a 7-0 win over the Mets. Garcia and Shaw became the most recent former Flying Squirrels to reach the major leagues, as well as the 60th and 61st in franchise history.

BUILDING THE BAY Former Flying Squirrels manager Kyle Haines was tabbed as the San Francisco Giants Director of Player Development. After leading the Flying Squirrels in 2017, Haines was named the Eastern League’s “Best Manager Prospect” by Baseball America. He spent 2018 as the Giants’ Assistant Director of Player Development. In his new role, Haines will oversee San Francisco’s entire minor league system, reporting directly to Giants President of Baseball Operations Farhan Zaidi. Haines replaces David Bell, who became the manager of the Cincinnati Reds following the 2018 season. A 31st-round pick in 2004 out of Eastern Illinois, the middle infielder spent five seasons playing in the Giants’ system, including the 2008 season with the Connecticut Defenders, the Flying Squirrels’ predecessor. Since 2010, 61 former Flying Squirrels have reached the major leagues, 49 of which came with the Giants. Now, Haines is in position to elevate the next group of prospects that could bring another World Series to Oracle Park.
