Leadership for a Cherished Cause
One of the many special Starlight Gala moments included Amit Sandhu (centre), CEO of Ampri Group who was inspired to make a donation to fully fund one ventilator in honour of his late grandmother who had received outstanding, compassionate care from the Richmond Hospital ICU team.
Enthusiastic and inspirational donors came together, uniting as a community to champion Richmond Hospital. Thanks to donor leadership and generosity, funds raised during the “Leadership Challenge” allow us to purchase much-needed acute care and surgical equipment including two Critical Care Ventilators for the Intensive Care Unit, a Video Image Processor for Ambulatory Care and a Rapid Infuser for the Emergency Department.

How Your Donations Transform Care at Richmond Hospital Two years ago, donors at the Starlight Gala were asked to help fund equipment for a new Pediatric Unit at Richmond Hospital. This year, we shared the emotional story of how those very donations helped to save the life of one-month old baby Casey. Admitted for respiratory illness and rapidly declining, baby Casey suddenly went into arrest, his breathing stopped and his pulse was lost. Thanks to the dedicated Richmond pediatric and emergency department medical teams, collaborating in the new facility with specialized

pediatric equipment, Casey was resuscitated and his life was saved. Since then he has made a full recovery. “We choose to live and raise our sons in such a way that reflects how thankful we are for these moments that Casey was given a second chance.
