THE INDUSTRY EXPERT
Sue Shapiro with Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty Selling real estate comes naturally to Sue Shapiro, as she grew up in the valley and heard the jargon since early childhood. Her mother Ellie Shapiro was one of the first female realtors selling luxury homes, in the Paradise Valley, Phoenix and Scottsdale areas. “Every Sunday, for as long as I can remember, my mom sat open houses on Sunday’s,” says Shapiro. “She often would bring new clients, she had just met, home for dinner. I grew up learning that real estate was more of a lifestyle, than a traditional job. My sister Karen Shapiro, is also a Realtor” Shapiro has loved the industry ever since. She enjoys meeting and working with people from various backgrounds and different parts of the world, while her clients love her straightforward honesty. There are many moving parts to a real estate transaction and she believes it takes skill, communication, expertise and lots of patience to list, sell and get a transaction to and through the closing process. “You have to be fully committed to be successful in real estate,” says Shapiro. Shapiro has proven she’s more than committed. She has been a top producer in real estate and award winner year after year, since 1984. Last year, she was in Russ Lyon Sotheby’s top 5%. She specializes in Paradise Valley, Scottsdale and Phoenix areas. Shapiro enjoys keeping up with market trends and technology. In addition, Russ Lyon Sotheby’s provides her with the most current tools and marketing materials to keep her ahead of the competition. “It’s important to know the current values in the areas you serve, it’s not just price per square foot in luxury real estate,” says Shapiro. “Each property is unique and the land value, location and many other factors can influence the market value.” Shapiro stays incredibly busy with her dedicated client base, but she also carves out the time to go to her kid’s soccer and basketball games. She is the official school sponsor of Scottsdale’s Cheyenne Traditional School and often attends various charity events, including animal and children causes. She also often collaborates with her husband Robert Lyle, a loan officer with Equitable Home Mortgage in Scottsdale, ensuring real estate continues to be an ongoing discussion topic, in her home.
