orn and raised in New York, a city of top-notch fashion innovation, Chrissy Cunningham has always been exposed to the chic things in life. “I was very accustomed to shopping in stores that offered a broad variety of merchandise and unique items,” she explains. When this East Coast native settled on the West Coast, she brought her Bohemian, edgy and chic style with her. The birth of her son, Chase, motivated Cunningham to offer Valley residents a New York-style shopping experience. “After my son was born, I had the idea to recreate an edgy yet cozy ‘SoHostyle’ baby boutique where the residents of Arizona can purchase unique, high-end, and one-of-a-kind special items for baby and the expecting mom,” she says. This stylish mother to a 1½-year-old can be found at her North Scottsdale storefront, Cheeky Chic Baby Boutique (8989 E. Via Linda, Ste. 108, Scottsdale; 480.272.9659; www.cheekychicbb.com), where she combines comfort, class, and a unique touch into all of her daily ensembles– “I have a deep love for music and the arts, and my style most certainly reflects that.” Cunningham may be a full-time mom and businesswoman, but she is never too busy to feed her interests in fashion and design. She stays up-to-date on trends and gains inspiration from Pinterest and fashion magazines. “I believe that the world perceives you the way you present yourself,” she says. Which is your favorite retailer? Free People is my absolute favorite. I also really enjoy shopping at Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie. Do you like to mix up your style? Yes. I love to pair a band T-shirt or a loose graphic tank top with a pair of skinny jeans and some heels! What are some of your hobbies? Barre fitness is my number one hobby. I consider myself a workout-a-holic! During my free time, I instruct group fitness and burn at the barre classes.
