Don Edwards collects estate jewelry and timepieces
D
on Edwards, owner of The Estate Watch and Jewelry Company, has made high-end luxury jewelry and watches his life’s work and passion. He has spent the last 35 years cultivating a collection of one-of-a-kind estate jewelry and timepieces, selling confidence and originality to those who step through the door of his beautiful store in Old Town Scottsdale. The jewelry industry veteran joined the family business when he was 15. After several years of working under his father, Edwards decided to branch out and open his own store with a small loan from the bank and only three watches to sell. He has worked tirelessly to grow his collection over the years, and now he can offer additional services like watch and jewelry repair, custom jewelry design, and certified diamond and gemstone appraisal.

Edwards prides himself on offering stunning jewelry and timepieces in a variety of styles, eras of fashion, and price points, all of which are priced significantly less than anything found in a traditional retail store setting. From designer jewelry brands like Tiffany & Co. and David Yurman to high-end luxury watch brands like Rolex and Patek Philippe, his collection is expansive and is always marked below retail. “Buying high-end jewelry is like buying a new car,” Edwards says. “When you buy a brand-new piece from a designer, the second you leave the store, it’s value depreciates. We offer like-new fine watches and jewelry at a fraction of retail, saving our customers money for the same exact look.” In the last five years, Edwards has begun to offer custom engagement ring and jewelry design. Edwards and his staff work directly with each client to design the perfect ring for the big day. In addition, Edwards has expanded his extensive
Swiss timepiece collection to be one of the largest in Arizona. “Getting engaged is an exciting time in someone’s life, and I like to make sure that the buying experience is flawless,” he says. “If I do not have the perfect ring already in the case, I work with my designers and full-time bench jeweler to create the perfect ring, literally custommade for each client.” When he is not in the store, he’s passionate about spending time with his family, playing ice hockey, and working with non-profit organizations like Diabetes, Inc. and Tanner’s Kids to find a cure for juvenile diabetes, a cause in which his entire family is involved.
