The family of Carlyle Gale Brewer would like to thank everyone for the kind words, cards, gifts, flowers, thoughts, and prayers during Carlyle’s recent illness and passing. Knowing you are all here to support us means the world to us. We want to thank the Richland Hospital and Unity Point Heath -Meriter Hospital in Madison for the top-notch care Carlyle received during his recent illness. Special thanks to Dr. Wright, who left no stone unturned to find the correct diagnosis, and to the team at Meriter, who tried everything they could to get him well again. Thanks also to Schmitt Woodland Hills for caring for Carlyle as if he were their own family member. Each staff member from the nurses, to the CNAs, housekeeping, the cooks, Pastor Craig Peach, and everyone in between provided such loving and dignified care. Special thanks to Desiree, Lacey, Mary Ann, and Angela who took the extra time to answer our endless questions and provide comfort to us as well as to Carlyle. We cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff at Schmitt were through Carlyle’s stay there. Thank you to St. Croix Hospice for walking with us on this journey and providing loving comfort and care to Carlyle during his final days. We could not have done it without you. Special thanks to Leslie, Shannon, and Missy for their amazing care of Carlyle and of us. Thank you to Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service and especially Nick Hodge for helping us plan the service that Carlyle deserved to have. Your thoughtful assistance was greatly appreciated. Lauretta “Dimp” (Durst) McGlynn
Lauretta “Dimp” (Durst) McGlynn, 100, of Cazenovia passed away peacefully on Labor Day, Monday, September 6, 2021, at Pine Valley Community Village in Richland Center. Dimp was born on February 16, 1921, the daughter of Adam & Lauretta (Dederich) Durst. She married Tom McGlynn Sr. on October 16, 1945, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Keyesville. Survivors include children, Tom (Winnie) McGlynn, Tad (Sue) McGlynn, Jerry (Janet) McGlynn, Jay McGlynn, Jim (Lisa) McGlynn, Pat (Monica) McGlynn; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Durst; brother-in-law, Joseph (Barbara) McGlynn; a son-inlaw, Paul Henry; 2 daughters-in-law, Sharlene McGlynn, Gina McGlynn; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom McGlynn Sr.; 2 sons, Joseph McGlynn, Timothy McGlynn; a daughter, Molly Henry; 2 brothers, Joseph Durst, Francis Durst; and a sister, Margaret Pringle. A Mass of Christian Burial was held held on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 11:30 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Cazenovia. Fr. Nathan Thainaise officiated with burial at St. Bridget’s Cemetery. Visitation was held at St. Anthony’s from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Patricia “Patty” Hagg, 78, of Richland Center, passed away on September 6, 2021. Patty was a resident of Richland Center for over fifty-one years. Born in Oelwein, Iowa, Patty was a graduate of Oelwein High School and attended Northwest Missouri State and Upper Iowa University. She later graduated from Southwest Tech as a CNA and worked at Pine Valley as a CNA and in Medical Records. Patty loved to sew and was a talented seamstress, enjoyed baking, taking rides in the country and throughout the state of Wisconsin, listening to music, reading, enjoyed attending Mass, and spent many years enjoying watching Polly and Abby play basketball. She was an amazing individual, wife to Claire, Mom to Polly and Abby, and Grandmother to Cameron. She also loved caring for her cats. Patty was very giving, nurturing, unselfish, unassuming, and loved being in the Richland Center community. She is survived by her husband Claire, Her daughter, Polly Hagg (Martha), Her daughter, Abby Baxter (Alex) and grandson, Cameron, as well as, many other relatives, including her siblings Doug Walton (deceased), Marci Davis, Gilbert Walton, nieces and nephews, and friends. A private family service was held. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service assisted the family with arrangements.
