As a junior urban designer with the City of Brampton, I have learned to understand architecture at the macro-scale. Working at the master-plan level has taught me to criticize architecture outside of the building itself by approaching it through a LEED ND Framework - a critcal way of thinking in city-building. It is much more than a single entity but rather a system of buildings with the public realm which, in effect, results in a dynamic human experience. This idea that a building itself can have city-aspects within its design is what continues to trigger my curiosity.
Throughout my four years in the undergraduate program, I have been able to develop an in-depth understanding of relationships between the built environment and the public realm. This portfolio aims to underscore my capabilities as a designer that gradually shifts focus in my understanding of architecture through an urban design lens.
