Passenger pressure changes new Yate bus route FIRST Bus has changed one of its new routes following a passengerled campaign to keep buses stopping in North Yate. The 46 and X46 routes have been replaced with new Y3 and Y4 services into Bristol which were originally only going to stop at Station Road. MP Luke Hall and the Local Yate Action Team started a petition which was signed by over 100 people in one day. Both Mr Hall and Liberal Democrat councillors raised the issue at meetings with First Bus to explain the impact of the changes on local residents. After considering all the feedback, which he said came from ‘many quarters’, managing director James Freeman agreed to provide stops at Iron Acton Way, Cranleigh Court Road and part of Greenways Road, with a ‘reasonable alternative’ for Halifax Road.
