'Appalling' charges must stop A CALL has been made for "extremely unfair" maintenance charges paid by owners of new homes to be abolished. Yate councillor Mike Drew says the annual ‘estate charges’ for the upkeep of outdoor communal areas, such as roads, footpaths, green spaces and play areas are "appalling". The fees cannot be challenged and there are no
