Page 30 YATE cinema has opened after staging a special gala to mark the event. Guests were invited to the evening which included a screening of Florence Foster Jenkins. Yate mayor, councillor Tony Davis, cut a strip of film to officially open the complex. The six screen cinema, which has almost a thousand seats, opened to the public at midnight
after the gala. 35 local people have been recruited to work in the cinema, which is part of the Riverside development in Yate. It’s hoped the cinema, and nearby restaurants, will be a key part in transforming Yate into a night time destination. More pics from the big night, pages 20 & 21
