Long awaited cinema in Yate gets opening date and new Disney film IT’S been on Yate’s “Most Wanted” list for years but the town is finally set to celebrate the opening of its own cinema. Cineworld has announced its multi-screen cinema will open on Friday, April 29. With six state-of-the-art screens showing the latest Hollywood releases, the complex on the new Yate Riverside site will seat nearly 1,000 moviegoers. Disney’s hotly anticipated Jungle Book and Captain America: Civil War are among the films set to be screened in the cinema’s opening week. As well as providing entertainment locally for people who would otherwise have to travel out of the town to see a film, the development has also created 35 jobs. Many of those taken on were appointed after a recruitment day was held in Yate Leisure Centre earlier this year. Full story Page 12.
