Normal life is on hold
NORMAL life has been put on hold as tough restrictions put in place to fight coronavirus affect every aspect of the community and economy. From shops and schools to pubs and churches, places which are part of the everyday fabric of life in Yate and Sodbury have been closed, while longplanned events that form part of the area’s yearly calendar are postponed or cancelled.
Supermarket shelves are emptied in panic and loved ones are banned from seeing each other. But across the area people are coming together to offer support to neighbours in self-isolation, give advice and suggestions for things to do at home and simply cheer each other up. Reports: pages 2-5
