Kōnae Ako Overview This kōnae ako is the culmination of the Kaupapa Wānanga learning journey throughout this degree. It requires ākonga to synthesise, apply and evaluate Kaupapa Wānanga in relation to current and future practice, using rangahau on a specific topic as the method through which Kaupapa Wānanga is applied. Ngā Whāinga (Aims) To engage ākonga in rangahau on a specific kaupapa, using Kaupapa Wānanga as a key informing framework. Ngā Putanga (Learning Outcomes) 1. Synthesise, apply and evaluate Kaupapa Wānanga in relation to current and future practice.

Kia Mataara (Special Notes) This kōnae ako is the third in a series of three Kaupapa Wānanga, each building upon the previous. It will be offered within all TWoA degree programmes. The term He Huinga Aronui encapsulates the intent of this kōnae ako. He Huinga is opportunity in this context for ākonga to bring together in a common space their selected kaupapa to deliver. Aronui talks to the individual kaupapa ākonga have selected, within the knowledge, wisdom and new layers of insight and explanation that will be presented. Te Wānanga o Aotearoa views kaitiakitanga, āhurutanga, koha and mauri ora as key elements that contribute to the success in all endeavours. Glossary Kaitiakitanga: The constant acknowledgement that people at any time and place are always engaged in relationships with others, their environments and kaupapa. Āhurutanga: The constant acknowledgement that quality spaces must be claimed and maintained to enable activities to be undertaken in an ethical and meaningful way. Koha: The constant acknowledgement that valued contributions are to be given and received responsibly. Mauri ora: The constant acknowledgement that pursuit of wellbeing is at the core of all kaupapa and activities.
