Do you love writing stories about yourself or about things you’ve imagined? Artists shown in The Voyage of Life: Art, Allegory, and Community Response tell stories about life through visual art. Explore these stories in the Gallery and then spend the day with novelist Rebecca Davis drafting and sharing your own story. Participants should bring their own lunch. Activities will take place primarily outdoors, with some time indoors.
Register for all family programs online at reynolda.org/learn. Contact Julia Hood, manager of school and family learning, at 336.758.5599 or hoodje@reynolda.org with questions. Programs for young children are supported in part by the PNC Foundation. Outdoor classes will be held weather permitting. Please note: some programs, especially indoor ones for children, may require face coverings for all participants. All in-person programs are subject to change.

Explore the grounds with a scavenger hunt. Download our free app, Reynolda Revealed, for more Reynolda stories before, during, and after your visit. Activities will take place indoors and outdoors, weather permitting.

Abstract Sculpture Workshop Get ready to build abstract forms and get messy as we use plaster cloth to build an abstract sculpture inspired by the work of artist Isamu Noguchi. As the sculpture may not be completely dry by the conclusion of the workshop, participants will have the option to take home a tube of paint and a brush to complete the project, though we will aim to paint one coat before the workshop concludes.
A Menagerie of Masks Create your own disguise in this workshop; participants will build their own animal masks from prepared templates or their imagination.
Up Close with O’Keeffe Spend time with one of Reynolda’s newest promised gifts to the collection: Cedar Tree with Lavender Hills, a painting by American artist Georgia O’Keeffe. Participants will use images of parts of the Reynolda landscape, or bring their own photographs of a personally significant landscape, to guide an abstracted painting inspired by the 20th-century master.
Holiday Card and Gift Tag Workshop This traditional workshop returns with evergreen printmaking in the studios and stamped and collaged cards and tags.
