Homes. She said Wellington is designed for every walk of life. “We have young couples, lots of families and retired couples. And it is all because they all have these special things there.” Mann is referring to the range of amenities that Wellington offers residents. The community boasts a junior-Olympic size pool, 24-hour workout center and clubhouse. “The workout center is phenomenal,” she said, offering cardio equipment, weights and a flat screen TV. “And there are so many activities going on in the clubhouse,” she added. Bill Yearns, owner of Granville Homes, the development company behind Wellington, agrees that the residents of the community have a unique way of life, but he added they also have a special bond. “It’s a really tight-knit community,” he said. “A lot of the families have kids, and often on Friday nights a group of guys get together and play cards, and the wives have get-togethers. Everybody knows each other and are friends.” Beyond the amenities and community relationships, Wellington also gives homeowners, in Mann’s opinion, the “ability to be out in a country setting.” She feels that the option to have a home on a large, nearly acre lot with that range of facilities in the neighborhood is what sets Wellington apart. “The community as a whole is so unique because it is so active together. Typically to get all that you have to live in the city, but Wellington is away from all the hustle

and bustle.” Granville Homes began developing Wellington about six years ago. There are 124 lots in all in the community, with 35 total lots remaining. Lot styles range from wooded to open, as well as lots that are flat and those that will accommodate basements. In addition to being the developer, Yearns is also a builder in Wellington. He said the community has been one of the better selling developments, even during the recent real estate downturn. As a result, of the 35 remaining lots, 18 are from a small, new phase recently opened. “I think it is the best value,” explained Yearns. “A homebuyer can get a nice home on a large lot in a nice school system with a great amenity package for under $300,000.
