Electric ARC Furnace Refractory Works Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) is a sword-making furnace, in which sword scrap is hotted and melted by the heat of electric bends striking between the furnace electrodes and the essence bath. The main benefit of the refractories for electric arc furnace over the Basic Oxygen Furnaces is their capability to treat charges containing up to 100 scraps. About 33 of the crude sword in the world is made in the Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF).

Electric Arc Furnace Refractory Lining: Electric Arc Furnace Refractory Lining is made generally of resin- clicked magnesiacarbon bricks. Fused magnesite grains and flake graphite are used as raw accouterments. Due to Electric Arc Furnace Refractory Lining, When the bricks are hotted the cling material is coked and turns into a carbon network binding the refractory grains, precluding water-soaking by the sediment and guarding the lining the from corrosion and chemical attack of the molten essence and sediment.

Chemical and physical procedures in an Electric Arc Furnace: Melting: 1st step in Electric Arc Furnace Refractory Lining is melting. The melting process starts at a low voltage ( short bow) between the electrodes and the scrap. The bow during this period is unstable. To ameliorate the bow stability small pieces of the scrap are placed in the upper subcaste of the charge. The temperature of the bow reaches 6300ºF (3500ºC).
