The RGS Today Thursday 26 March 2020 Issue 433
Our gates are closed; our minds are open.
#TOGETHER
Today’s Reminders RGS Website: During this period of remote learning, the RGS has two new straplines which it is using on the website and on social media #AlwaysPartoftheRGS:
Our gates are closed; our minds are open. Same students and staff; same values and inspiration; simply different locations. Daily Routine Reminders: Final day of term! Well done for all your hard work; the move to remote learning has only been possible because both staff and students have embraced it with such energy, pride and focus. A heartfelt thank you from us all. Period 8: The final period of term will be a Tutor period; there will be no Period 8 academic lessons. Tutors will discuss how this will work at morning registration. During this period there will be: 1. A shortened remote end-of-term assembly with messages from the Headmaster and a sporting review of the term from Mr Cover. 2. A brief remote learning survey: further information below. 3. An opportunity for your Tutor to speak to you prior to the Easter holidays. Remote Learning Survey: Tomorrow we will be asking you to complete a 10 – 15-minute survey on your experience of remote learning this week. Although we all hope this remote phase will not last for too long, we need to plan for the possibility that it might last well into next term. Over the Easter holiday, the School will be reflecting on how we can give you the best possible education at home and your feedback will be an essential part of our planning. Please give your ideas and submit it during Period 8, and then have a good holiday! This is not to be confused with the more general student survey for which we would also welcome the outstanding responses by 4.00pm tomorrow. Holiday Work: A reminder that as a school we will not be setting any homework over the Easter holiday to any year groups, except for the Fifth and Upper Sixth Forms. You deserve a break; enjoy it!
Wishing you all a relaxing, healthy and safe Easter holiday. See you – physically or remotely – next term! RGSGuildford
