The Advisors 2025

David Andrews (OG 2014)

After leaving RGS David took a gap year before reading Economics and Politics at Durham University. He then spent a year in politics and two years in accountancy, before finally switching to commercial law. He has been at Mayer Brown since August 2023 and will qualify as a solicitor in September this year.

Rory Annandale (OG 2012)

Rory studied Mathematics at the University of Warwick. He is a multi‐asset portfolio manager at Schroders and has 10 years experience in the Asset Management industry in the same team. In his role he is primarily responsible for managing portfolios for UK DB and DC pension schemes using a range of asset classes, although he has more of a focus on equity and ESG within investment.

Jay Atara

Jay is currently a consultant and coach at Neelkantha Limited, Chairman and Founder of Elimumatokeo, Director at EmpowerESG and Chairman of Reforest Africa, an NGO based in Tanzania. He graduated from Essex University and then secured a graduate role with BSkyB where he completed his professional finance qualifications (CIMA) and later completed treasury qualifications (ACT). As COO/CFO he has restructured, established, and managed a high performing finance teams, managed investor relationships and arranged debt financing. Recently Jay has completed Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) Business Sustainability Management and Sustainable Finance certifications.

David Bagley

David currently works in asset management for a family office investing money into private equity funds. Previously he worked as a management consultant advising businesses mainly on where they should prioritise resources (capital and people) and as an environmental consultant advising water and power companies on marine environmental matters.

Ed Ball (OG 2017)

Ed studied Mechanical Engineering at Leeds University, ending up with a Master's Degree in Automotive Engineering. He then joined Williams Racing as a graduate Engineer having previously worked there as a placement student while at university. He currently works in the Aerodynamic Test department, developing tools, technologies and systems to push forward the design and development of their race cars. His role is highly varied, challenging, fast‐paced and rewarding, allowing him great freedom to experiment and take ideas from conception to completion in timescales not possible outside of F1.

Richard Bartlett (OG 2004)

Richard joined McKinsey & Company, a global management consultancy, after graduating from Warwick University in 2008. He is currently a partner in the London office and his work has spanned both healthcare and life sciences where he focuses on a mixture of strategy and transformation work typically with multinational organisations, as well as work with investors on transactions and portfolio.

Oliver Bazin (OG 2007)

Oliver completed a degree in Economics and then joined KPMG's graduate scheme, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (ACA). Following this, Oliver transitioned into Investment Banking at Rothschild, specialising in

mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He ultimately achieved his goal of joining a hedge fund, where he focuses on investing in UK and US equities in the stock market.

Max Beech (OG 2015)

Founder of getathenic.com, an agentic AI tool for e‐commerce stores. Previously a senior product manager for Yahoo Finance and Revolut.

Jack Bell (OG 2015)

After leaving RGS in 2015, Jack studied Human, Social and Political Studies at Cambridge University before undertaking a War Studies postgraduate degree at King’s College London. He then worked for four years at a public affairs and PR agency ‐ Lodestone Communications ‐ before working at the Royal United Services Institute think tank for a year and a half as RUSI’s Media Relations Manager. He joined the Liberal Democrats in February 2025 as their Foreign Affairs and Defence Adviser.

Edwin Bowater

Edwin studied Engineering Science at Cambridge University, graduating in 1994. He then moved to Australia to work as a design engineer within the food manufacturing industry, where he gained Chartered Engineer status. In 2000, he joined FJB Systems in the UK, where he has since been designing and project managing cold stores and food manufacturing facilities within the UK and overseas, as owner and Managing Partner.

Mark Broadbent

Mark is a qualified and chartered Chemical Engineer, having studied Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Further Maths at A level and graduated with a MEng degree from Imperial College, London. He joined the graduate scheme at BP and has worked as a Chemical Engineer, Engineering Manager and Engineering Director in the Oil and Gas as well as the Renewables sectors (Hydrogen, Wind, Biofuels). His career has included working onshore and offshore, as well as living in countries as varied as Korea, Trinidad, Singapore, Angola and Scotland. Mark is happy to talk about the Oil and Gas sector, Engineering careers, Net Zero and Renewables and working in industry in general.

Richard Burgess (OG 2014)

Richard transacts up to £500m per day of swaps and bonds in the external financial markets to de‐risk our bank. Having worked in most areas of Treasury ("the bank's internal bank"), he can talk about what it's like to work in a small to mid‐size bank, and about working as a trader, programmer or mathematician inside a bank.

David Carey

Professor David Carey is the Associate Head (Education) in the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, and Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Surrey. He holds a BA in Natural Sciences and a PhD in Experimental Physics, both from Trinity College Dublin. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering Technology and a Fellow of Institute of Physics. His current research interests include the application of electronic devices and nanomaterials.

Felix Clarke (OG 2015)

Since graduating from Oxford PPE in 2018, Felix has worked in a variety of economist roles across government. Most of his roles have focussed on environmental and net zero policy. Since April last year, Felix has worked at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on Greenhouse Gas Removals. In 2021, he received a master's in Sustainability from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Hugh Cockwill

Global career in Premier Global Company P&G ‐ focusing on Business and Digital transformation ‐ then C Suite focused ‐ leading Mobile Loyalty Company ‐ and Senior Vice President of Big Data and Analytics company with Global Retailer and Leading Supplier Brands. Now providing personal consultancy services to deliver Business change through digital transformation‐ and coaching on how to develop personal skills to excel in Business.

Robert Cooper (OG 1993)

Robert studied Physics & Philosophy at Nottingham then European Real Estate at Kingston and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He has spent the last 22 years at niche advisory firm AGL, assisting a broad range of owners and occupiers with their commercial property portfolios. He also owns and runs a commercial property investment company.

Josh Crossley (OG 2011)

Josh works in central government as a civil servant. After graduating in PPE from Oxford University, Josh worked in the House of Commons for Members of Parliament. He then joined the Civil Service, first in the Cabinet Office and then at the Department for Transport, working primarily as a policy adviser. He now serves as Principal Private Secretary to the Attorney General, a Cabinet Minister and the Government’s chief legal adviser.

Lawrence Davies (OG 2017)

Laurence places bespoke professional indemnity insurance programmes for a wide range of law firms, accountancy practices and other miscellaneous firms.

Chris Donaldson (OG 1999)

Dr Chris Donaldson is a fully accredited, hospital consultant, specialist orthodontist and medical doctor with broad ranging experience, working in London and the Southeast of England. Chris' sub‐specialist interests are in smile / facial aesthetics, airway development procedures, dento‐facial orthopaedics and the digital virtual surgical planning of facial & jaw surgery.

James Fairley (OG 2015)

After studying Philosophy at Durham, a ski season at Whistler and some travelling, James joined Deloitte on their grad scheme and hasn’t looked back. He is now an Associate Director in Deloitte's Financial Investors team, focusing on large international transactions for corporate groups / private equity firms.

Richard Ford

Dr Richard Ford obtained a PhD from Cambridge and then spent 18 years at McLaren F1 team. He was responsible for all the control systems on the race car and general oversite of all powertrain topics. Since 2018 he has been at Protean Electric who make in‐wheel electric powertrains for automotive applications. He is now Applications and Advanced Engineering Director and is responsible for all engineering activities outside of the core product development function.

Max Fornasiero (OG 2018)

Max studied Medicine at University College London. He graduated in 2024 and is now a doctor in East London. He is currently undertaking a specialised foundation programme, combining his clinical rotations with orthopaedic surgery research.

Geraldine Fox

Geraldine is an experienced HR professional, whose career spans both the financial services and technology sectors. As Head of HR for NatWest Markets plc (a subsidiary of NatWest Group plc), Geraldine is responsible for driving the people strategy that helps the business to deliver on its strategic business goals. Key areas of expertise are HR business partnering, organisational design, performance, talent management, skills and capabilities, culture, inclusion, reward / benefits and employee relations.

Jo Franklin

Jo Franklin completed a BA in Drama at Aberystwyth University and trained in stage management at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She worked as a stage manager in a wide variety of theatre companies before moving into teaching at Guildford School of Acting, part of the University of Surrey. She is now Associate Professor in Theatre Production and Head of Technical Theatre Arts for GSA and is keen to spread the word about the many and varied fulfilling careers available in the creative arts and entertainment sector.

Liam Fridge

Liam graduated from the University of Southampton with a degree in Business Management, including an Industrial Placement. He kicked off his career in the automotive world, gaining solid experience at Volkswagen and BMW. During his time at university and in various jobs, Liam sharpened his communication and tech skills. He's now diving into his next career adventure as a Finance Graduate at Allianz. He recently moved on from the graduate scheme to become a Business Support Executive for the Group Financial Controller, all while working towards his CIMA qualifications.

Alice Gauld

Dr Alice Gauld has around 20 years' experience in natural catastrophe modelling. After a degree and PhD in Oceanography at the University of Southampton, she joined the Risk Management Solutions Ltd (RMS) graduate programme, now part of Moody's, moved into the area of Product Management, helping insurance clients across the world understand how climate catastrophe models can be used to understand and manage their risk.

Dominique Gillan

Dominique is a barrister, with a career that spans 3 decades, having started her career at the Bar of Northern Ireland before moving her practice to England and Wales. As a self‐employed barrister, she works within a supportive set of barristers' chambers, an organisation which is not dissimilar to a partnership, allowing her to benefit from collaboration while maintaining her independence. Over the years, Dominique has handled both criminal and civil law cases, although her expertise has now evolved to being focussed on family law, particularly in public child cases, where the state is involved in decisions regarding the upbringing of children. In addition to her work in public law cases, Dominique has built a solid practice in financial remedy cases, helping clients navigate the complex distribution of assets following dissolution of marriage or civil partnership.

Tom Gilliam

Tom is the Deputy Treasurer at Haleon, one of the world's largest consumer healthcare companies; he set up the Treasury team at Haleon in preparation for its separation from GSK in 2022. Tom studied Maths at Oxford (Christ Church), then trained as a Chartered Accountant before moving into Treasury where he has spent most of the last 20 years; he has worked for large international companies like SABMiller and GSK, focusing on funding and financial risk management.

George Glover (OG 2017)

George is a journalist who writes about media, entertainment, and sport for Barron’s, an American business magazine published by Dow Jones. He left RGS in 2017 to study at UCL.

Christopher Gooding (OG 2018)

Christopher studied Law at the University of Oxford before completing an MSc in Public Policy at UCL. He joined Hubert Burda Media on their international graduate programme, working on digital transformation projects across the UK, Poland, Thailand, and Germany. He currently works as a Commercial Marketing Analyst at Immediate Media, part of the Burda Group, focusing on pricing strategy, marketing effectiveness, and customer insight for subscription brands including Radio Times, Good Food, and Gardeners’ World.

Rory Green

Rory is currently completing a doctorate to qualify as a clinical psychologist. Before starting this doctorate, he worked in a secure hospital and mental health crisis team, and with people with a range of different psychological difficulties (such as psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, complex‐PTSD, depression, anxiety, OCD and 'personality disorders'), both in the community and in inpatient services. His research focus is on how participating in arts spaces can facilitate identity development, both in young people with autism and members of the transgender community. If anyone is interested in learning more about a career in psychology, or mental health services more broadly, I would be more than happy to chat and answer any questions you may have.

Sam Green (OG 2018)

Sam is an Investment Associate at Alchemy Partners ‐ a special situations fund. The special situations strategy focuses on investing in companies that can be accessed at a discount, often due to experiencing financial difficulties or operating in a sector that is less attractive to conventional investors. His role centres on finding and analysing these investment opportunities. Before joining Alchemy last year, he spent three years working in investment banking at Barclays and PJT Partners, having graduated from Oxford with a PPE degree in 2021.

Stuart Gregory

Stuart is a Chartered Accountant and has an Honours degree in Economics and a Higher Diploma in International Taxation. Stuart is the Deputy Regional Managing Partner for UK & Ireland at EY. Prior to this role Stuart worked in EY’s Strategy & Transactions team and lead the Private Equity Team. Stuart has over twenty‐five years of experience advising corporate and private equity clients on over 400 completed transactions.

Christopher Harvey (OG 2011)

After studying Civil Engineering at the University of Bath, he joined a member firm of the "HAT Group" on their graduate scheme. Following his qualification as a chartered accountant (ACA) he chose to specialise in tax and moved to EY where he qualified as a chartered tax advisor (CTA) before finally moving to PwC. He specialises in working with businesses in the private equity and large corporate sectors.

Matthew Hebburn

Matthew worked at Allen Overy Shearman for 20 years, 10 of which as a Partner leading their derivatives and structures finance practice in Asia Pacific. He then joined Simmons and Simmons as a partner where he

spearheaded their OTC derivatives practice. Now retired from private practice he works as a consultant, which is a new and increasing area of opportunity. At present he is consulting for Citi.

David Hilditch (OG 2019)

After graduating the University of Bath with a BSc in Architecture, and some experience with Build Collective Structural Engineers, David joined Scott Brownrigg as a part 1 architectural assistant working in their life science team, helping to design and create world‐class laboratory facilities within Oxford and Cambridge. He specialises in pushing for low‐carbon design and has become a Certified Passivhaus Designer. Currently, he is studying as a level 7 apprentice at the University of Portsmouth.

Richard Hyde

Richard has worked within the data industry his entire working life. During this time, he has had several roles, including database administrator, data developer, data modeler and data architect, working across several industries, currently insurance, but previously hotels, pharmaceuticals, government and banking.

Ridley Hymas (OG 2019)

Ridley started his grad scheme at EY in 2022, having spent three years studying Physics at the University of Exeter. He is now an exam‐qualified Chartered Accountant, having recently passed his final exams, and fully qualifies later this year. During his time at EY, he has been engaged on the external audits of large insurance companies and Syndicates within the Lloyd’s of London insurance market.

Adam Hyslop (OG 2003)

Adam studied Economics and Management at Oxford before starting his career as a strategy consultant at OC&C, advising businesses across the consumer and technology sectors. In 2012 he co‐founded OpenRent, an online platform that has transformed the UK rental market by making property letting more transparent, affordable, and efficient for landlords and tenants. As a founder, Adam has overseen OpenRent’s growth to become the UK’s largest letting agent, helping millions of renters find homes. He is passionate about technology, entrepreneurship, and improving access to housing.

Will Inchbald (OG 2014)

Will studied law at Exeter University and then trained as a lawyer at a silver circle law firm, qualifying as a tax lawyer. After 3 years of practicing as a tax lawyer he realised I wanted to experience a broader legal role and moved to an in‐house role at Telehouse as a Corporate & Commercial Counsel. He is a big advocate for the alternative career as an in‐house lawyer.

Nim Induruwa

Nim is a passionate Aerospace Engineer (having graduated in 2023 from the University of Sheffield in Aerospace Engineering) and part‐time STEM/lifestyle content creator, with hands‐on rocketry and engineering experience. This led me to her first role as a Software Integration engineer at Jaguar Land Rover where shortly after she was promoted to the Lead 27MY Defender Programme Integrator in the Vehicle Programmes Team at JLR.

Sam Jones (OG 2019)

Sam is approaching qualification as a Chartered Accountant having joined PwC on the Graduate Scheme, and is well placed to discuss early careers within the Big 4 and the professional qualification routes they offer.

Francesca Kapfer‐Gill

Francesca is a diplomat, about to be posted to the British Embassy in Madrid. She studied Classics at the University of Cambridge followed by a Masters in International Relations at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. She then joined the Civil Service Fast Stream, working in the Departments for International Development, Environment, Work and Pensions, and the UK Space Agency, and was seconded to the EU's External Action Service in Brussels. She now works for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, where she has spent much of her time working on China issues, including living in Beijing for four years.

James Kavanagh (OG 2017)

James graduated from Edinburgh University with a Masters in mechanical engineering, making connections with Mott MacDonald during a university placement year. He has now been with the company for nearly three years, working as an engineer and project manager on a huge range of projects across the water sector including treatment centre design, biogas to power plant, and water storage planning.

Tim Kettyle (OG 2016)

Tim spent 5 years studying at the University of Liverpool, during which time he was the President of the Veterinary Society. Since graduating in 2021, Tim has gained extensive experience in the industry from working in a tier 3, 24‐hour veterinary hospital to being lead vet at a busy 6‐vet clinic. Tim is currently working in Warwickshire, gearing up to starting an Advanced Veterinary Practitioner Certificate in internal medicine.

Peter Key (OG 1999)

After reading History at Warwick Peter took two gap years mainly living and working in Spain where he became a bilingual Spanish‐speaker and qualified TEFL teacher. On returning to the UK he earned his ACA at a Surrey firm before moving to London with a 4‐month secondment to Melbourne, Australia along the way. Peter joined S&W in 2016 and made partner in 2024 where I split my time between London and Guildford ‐ leading a team of over 30 people and advising a mixed portfolio of UK and international companies.

Hamish Klintworth (OG 2019)

Hamish completed his Law degree at the University of Bristol his LPC LLM at the University of Law. Hamish now works as a Paralegal with Capsticks LLP, a Public Law Firm, working within their Housing Management department. Having not yet obtained a Training Contract, he is passionate about educating prospective law students and lawyers on the various routes into the profession. Working within a litigation department, Hamish can provide particular insight into disputes work but possesses knowledge and interest in areas ranging from Capital Markets to Commercial Agreements.

Nicholas Lake (OG 2007)

Nick is a Chartered Structural Engineer (CEng IStructE) and Principal Engineer in the Structures Group of Tony Gee and Partners LLP Global Consulting Civil Engineers. His primary experience is with bridge design and construction but has also been involved with numerous other heavy‐civils projects. He studied Civil and Environmental Engineering (MEng) at Imperial College. He has also worked as a site engineer seconded to Hochtief UK Construction, and regularly works closely with Contracting firms to deliver large scale complex infrastructure projects.

David Lambert (OG 2009)

David studied Law at Selwyn College, Cambridge and completed the Legal Practice Course before moving into management consulting at Accenture. After several years on projects in the energy and resources industry, he took his consulting experience to China and worked at the British Embassy Beijing as a Programme Manager and Digital Tech Policy Advisor. He then returned to the UK to join Sisua, a boutique consultancy specialising in project and programme management. He has recently worked on projects in retail, sports and life sciences.

Vincent Li (OG 2007)

Vincent graduated from Barts and the London and furthered his training by obtaining an MSc in Advanced General Dental Practice from the University of Birmingham and a PG Dip. in Dental Implantology from the University of Bristol. Vincent is the Clinical Lead at College Street Dental Centre. As well as routine general dentistry, he provides dental implants and enjoys helping dentally anxious patients. He is a keen advocate of digital dentistry and utilises these modern techniques to plan placement and restoration of dental implants.

Robert Lillie (OG 2017)

Robert studied for a Masters Degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Southampton during which competed a placement year at Airbus. He joined NatWest in 2022 having been successful in securing a graduate offer following a summer internship. He works in Corporate Foreign Exchange Sales for NatWest Markets, the investment bank of NatWest. In his role, Robert assists UK corporate companies to trade internationally by accessing foreign currencies. These companies vary from specialist manufactures all the way to large Highstreet brands and FTSE 100 listed companies.

Rob Loveless (OG 2007)

Rob studied Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. He completed his Foundation Training in Scotland, before training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care in Southeast London and Surrey. He spent a year working in Pre‐Hospital Emergency Medicine for Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex, before taking up a consultant post in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Royal Surrey County Hospital. Rob continues to fly regularly with the Air Ambulance and leads the organisation’s strategy for airway management.

Mike MacFarlane (OG 2007)

Mike is a Senior First Officer at easyJet. Based at London Gatwick, he flies the Airbus A319/320/321 on the whole of easyJet’s route network. He is also a Pilot Instructor, primarily carrying out simulator training for all experienced and new entrant pilots. In his most recent role as an Instructor Development Pilot, he works with both new and experienced instructors, helping them deliver the best possible training to pilots.

Ritu Malaiya

Ritu is a Rheumatologist, a hospital‐based doctor, looking after osteoporosis, musculoskeletal problems and autoimmune diseases. If you are interested in a career in medicine Ritu would be delighted to talk to you about the ins and outs!

Callum McLean (OG 2015)

Callum is a solicitor in the private equity group at Taylor Wessing, a city law firm. He specialises in advising investors and corporates on buying, selling and investing in businesses. His recent experience includes advising a private equity firm on its investment into a premium darts equipment manufacturer. Before joining Taylor Wessing as a trainee solicitor in 2020, Callum studied psychology at the University of Sheffield and completed the law conversion course at BPP University.

Brad Miller (OG 2007)

Brad is a Fixed Income Client Portfolio Manager in Goldman Sachs Asset Management Securitized and Liquid Alternatives business. Brad is the Client Portfolio Manager covering their offshore Securitized strategies and Liquid Alternative products based out of London. Brad joined Goldman Sachs Asset Management in 2011 and has worked across a number of different roles in the Fixed Income team, focusing on Securitized, Liquid Alternative, Macro, Currency and Unconstrained strategies. Brad has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Exeter.

Heidi Morgan

Heidi has an LLB from the University of Melbourne. Upon qualification, she relocated to London and joined Ashurst as a registered foreign lawyer, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and with a focus on private equity. Currently working at Macfarlanes as a corporate lawyer within the tax group specialising in project implementation (company restructuring and reorganisations).

Craig Murphy (OG 2008)

Craig studied Mathematics at Cambridge and trained as a Chartered Accountant. Since qualifying, he has worked in industry across a variety of sectors, as well as a range of organisations from start‐ups, private equity backed businesses to global multinationals. He currently works as Head of Finance for the German subsidiaries of an agrochemical company.

Paul Naylor

Paul studied Mechanical Engineering at University, including gaining a Ph.D. in Fluid Mechanics. He worked for a number of years in electro‐mechanical systems development leading to project management, then company management. He held four board positions including Managing Director and then became a consultant and part time lecturer in engineering management before retirement. He still teaches part time at masters level.

Calvin Ngwena (OG 2015)

Policy professional in the Civil Service, with experience across multiple Departments, currently focusing on energy security and net zero priorities.

Richard Ollington (OG 2012)

Richard studied Mechanical Engineering at Pembroke, Cambridge. On graduating he worked for five years as a management consultant in London. In 2021 he joined his friend's boutique nuclear energy consultancy where he works to this day with three others. Richard works internationally, providing leaders with the insights and direction they need to bring about a low‐carbon, high‐energy future.

Alex Osborne (OG 2016)

Alex made the switch to Real Estate investments at W.P. Carey in 2024. His role affords him access to a wide range of sectors, from kidney dialysis plants to fish farms, kitchen manufacturing sites to hotels. Prior to this, Alex spent five years in Investment Banking where he worked in Leveraged Finance. Alex graduated from the University of Cambridge, with a BA in Land Economy.

Dan Osborne (OG 2016)

Dan Osborne graduated with a first class degree in Chinese Studies from the University of Cambridge. He then started work at PwC on their Audit graduate scheme, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant 3 years later. Post qualification, he transferred to PwC's Deals line of service, where he now specialises in the valuation of banks, insurance and asset management companies.

Chris Philpott (OG 2004)

Chris studied Biochemistry at The University of Bath and started work in an operations role at ED&F Man Sugar (a commodity trading firm), handling vessel shipments and related futures and options activity. He moved more towards finance, joining the trade surveillance team at Standard Chartered Bank. He is now the European Head of Trade Surveillance for Jane Street, a global quantitative trading firm and liquidity provider.

Oliver Platt (OG 2017)

After graduating from Durham University having studied Engineering, he joined NayaOne (a fintech startup) as a data scientist. Currently he is Head of Client Solutions. He specialises in working with top banks, insurers, and regulators and helping them develop their technology strategy and partnerships with technology vendors.

Mark Pontin

After basic surgical training and a spell in New Zealand I joined the SW Thames registrar training programme in Emergency Medicine. I have been a consultant at the Royal Surrey since 2005. I was clinical director of the department for 7 years, teach on advanced life support, trauma and paediatric resuscitation courses and examine for RCEM. I am the subdean responsible for St Georges and Southampton medical students at the hospital.

Sharon Pontin

After graduating in 1996 Sharon focused on general medical nursing initially, later specialising in Cardiology and Respiratory, and taking the opportunity to travel and work in New Zealand. On her return to the UK she became a Ward Sister managing a short stay medicine and surgery ward and subsequently managing a busy Medical Assessment Unit. Sharon then became a resuscitation officer, teaching resuscitation to all levels of clinical and non clinical staff, attending priority, cardiac arrest and trauma calls throughout the hospital and undertaking audits to improve practice. In 2012, Sharon completed a degree in Midwifery and worked as a midwife both in the hospital and the community until coming to the RGS as school nurse in 2017.

Mona Qureshi Wyatt

After graduating in English Literature from Leeds University, I pursued a career in Film & TV. Over the past 25 years Mona has worked as a script editor and producer within the BBC, in independent production, and am currently running original scripted series for Netflix UK, commissioning and creatively overseeing a range of shows from One Day, to The Gentlemen and most recently, Adolescence.

Colin Read

Colin is a partner at Pinsent Masons, a commercial law firm well known for its substantial footprint in the UK and Ireland together with offices in mainland Europe, Dubai, China and Australia. For 5 years he was senior legal counsel at the insurer RSA where he gained significant in‐house legal experience. Prior to that Colin trained at and spent a further 9 years at Clifford Chance in London and Frankfurt. He is a Solicitor‐Advocate (Civil).

Tom Rees (OG 2011)

Tom trades foreign exchange algorithmically for Eisler, a multi‐strategy hedge fund, trying to identify predictable patterns in global markets. He previously worked in crypto and at a bank trading foreign exchange and precious metals, both market making and discretionary.

Josh Richards (OG 2012)

After graduating from the University of Durham Josh returned to RGS to teach in the Biology department for six years before moving into the Civil Service. His new role in the MoD is extremely fulfilling, varied, exciting and rewarding. He works closely with all branches of the UK military, wider UK government and international partners.

Balazs Rigo (OG 2020)

Balazs studied Aerospace Engineering at The University of Sheffield, where he also led the university's student drone team, "Project Hex". After graduating with a BEng (Hons), he joined ISS Aerospace, a UK‐based company that develops Uncrewed Vehicles for a wide range of industries, including defence and security, industrial inspection, and much more.

Andrew Robertson (OG 2014)

Andrew qualified from University of Cambridge in 2021 and have since worked across all species both in the UK and New Zealand. Currently working as a small animal vet with a surgery bias.

Daphne Robertson

After graduating with an English Language and Literature MA from St Andrews, Daphne completed a law conversion course. She trained as a solicitor with Freshfields, has worked in Moscow, lectured in law at Albany University in New York, and taught commercial law at the University of Law in London. Daphne is the Senior Partner of DR Solicitors an award‐winning firm of healthcare solicitors specialising in advising medical businesses and GP practices. In 2024 DR Solicitors joined Dow Schofield Watts, a network of entrepreneurial professional services firms, to increase growth and investment in the firm and to provide even more tailored services to clients.

Max Robertson (OG 2015)

Max studied Physics at university and joined Citibank through the graduate scheme where he now works as a trader within financial markets. His day‐to‐day is a mixture of slow deep thinking about models and high‐paced trading.

Barney Robson

Barney has worked for financial services companies including NatWest, BNP Paribas and UBS in the development and operation of large‐scale computing environments. He started managing computer infrastructure and developed software to maintain databases. As companies became more aware of the vulnerabilities of these systems to outside interference, his focus moved onto cyber security and risk management . Recent years have seen his work similarly follow the dramatic move to cloud computing and microsystems, an entirely new way of running software, innovated by companies like Google.

Andrew Rumfitt (OG 1987)

Andrew studied Geography at Cambridge University, followed by an MPhil in Environmental Planning at Reading University. Andrew currently works as an independent consultant, but his career spans a range of built environment and infrastructure consultancies alongside roles in the public sector. A chartered town planner (MRTPI) and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS), he brings extensive expertise in urban planning, economic development, and infrastructure strategy.

Keith Sargent

Keith is a co‐founder and Chair of the Trustee Board of the Centre for Strategic and International Governance (CSIG). A start‐up charity that seeks to advance human rights and education through the lens of good governance and ethical leadership, it supports the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 16 for ‘peace, justice and strong institutions’ and the UN's Global Compact. Keith has worked internationally in both traditional development and fragile state contexts in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Pacific and Caribbean for national governments and major donor agencies including the UN, EC and the UK Government.

Anith Sathananthan (OG 2020)

Waymont Consulting is a technical consultancy based in Guildford providing novel hardware and software solutions to solve clients’ most challenging problems. They work across a spectrum of cutting‐edge technology, from high‐speed signal processing with FPGAs to complex cyber security solutions. From day one, consultants work alongside senior staff and customers on live projects, where their work will have an immediate impact. Consultants can find themselves: creating hardware designs and liaising with sub‐contractors to build them; developing software for distributed systems; designing algorithms for data processing; or writing proposals for next‐generation products.

Ben Seed (OG 2014)

Ben joined CZ during the placement year of an economics degree at the University of Bath. After graduating he returned and worked within the advisory team focusing on delivering sugar market analysis and price risk management advice to major food and beverage manufacturers as well as producers. Over time he had an increasing focus on building up the team's data capabilities and solutions. Most recently the role has expanded with Ben ensuring that data right across the company is being effectively captured and used in a commercial way.

Aadi Shahare (OG 2019)

Aadi graduated from the University of Warwick with a degree in Economics. He began his career at a financial consultancy, specialising in financial modelling and is now an Investment Banking Analyst at CIBC, working within

the Energy, Infrastructure & Transition (EIT) and the Metals & Mining sectors. His team focuses on both buy / sell side deals and his role requires him to build complex financial models, conduct industry research, prepare marketing materials and to generally support in deal execution across a wide range of mandates.

Aneet Sian

Graduated in Medicine in 2002, now working as a Consultant Radiologist in the local acute hospital.

Harry Somerville (OG 2017)

Harry works as an Associate at Simpson Thacher & Barlett LLP in their Private Funds practice. STB is a New York based law firm and Harry works out of their London office on the formation and operation of private equity funds and other investment funds across a variety of strategies.

Carys Sonnenberg

Carys has a portfolio career in medicine. She works as an NHS GP specialising in women's health. She runs Rowena Health, a private women's health and menopause clinic, seeing women from all over the UK. She is the co‐author of the book Women's Health Made Easy, to be published in 2025. She sits on the Clinicians Creator Council for TikTok, the social media platform, involved in education and public health campaigns.

Luke Souchard (OG 2002)

Luke is Head of Brand Experience at EE. In this role he is responsible for EE's sponsorship portfolio including the England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland Football Associations, Wembley Stadium and BAFTA; as well as EE's content & experiential marketing. Luke graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of York and has over 20 years experience in marketing & advertising in the telco industry at Sky, BT and EE.

Callum Spencer (OG 2017)

Callum studied Physics at St John’s College, University of Cambridge. He now works as a Long/Short Equity Analyst at Point72.

Oliver Stentiford (OG 2019)

Oliver read law at Downing College, Cambridge. He is now a Trainee Solicitor at Allen Overy Shearman Sterling LLP where he has sat in Litigation & Investigations and is now sitting in Global Financial Markets. Before commencing his training contract, Oliver worked in the Europe Legal team at InterContinental Hotels Group, a FTSE‐100 hospitality company, supporting the signing and opening of new hotels across Southern Europe.

Aidan Sutton

After studying Geography at Keble College, Oxford, Aidan joined KPMG on a training contract and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1998. He moved to PwC in 2006 and spends his time advising private clients; privately‐owned businesses; charities and partnerships.

Kostas Symeonidis

With a foundation in Mathematics studied abroad, Kostas launched his Software Engineering career early, building a diverse portfolio as a freelancer and consultant. His experience spans industries from medicine and education to advertising and manufacturing. He spent over a decade at Sony PlayStation as a Software Engineer, followed by the last 12 years leading software engineering teams in Google's Ads product area.

Richard Taylor‐Whiteway (OG 2008)

Richard read History at UCL. He trained and qualified as a tax lawyer at CMS, where he specialised in funds and private equity. He then helped set‐up a Transactional Risk insurance MGA where he is a Director and manages the tax insurance portfolio.

George Tench (OG 2019)

George studied PPE at the University of Oxford. After graduating, he travelled extensively across East and West Africa. Since 2024, George has worked at STOP THE TRAFFIK, an intelligence‐led NGO using data and technology to disrupt human trafficking. As their Operations and Development Analyst he is responsible for their fundraising and impact evaluation. George is interested in talking to anyone who wants a career in international development, human rights, or the broader charity sector.

Peter Thompson (OG 2010)

Peter studied PPE at Warwick University and has 9 years experience working as an investment manager, for Octopus Investments and Radiant Asset Management.

Grace Thornborow

Grace graduated from the University of Essex with a first‐class degree in Banking and Finance. She began her career as a trainee tax assistant, where she gained two years of valuable experience. Following this, she transitioned into the world of sports, working at England Netball for nearly two years. During her time there, she developed strong communication and leadership skills. Currently, Grace is part of the finance graduate scheme at Allianz, where she is pursuing her CIMA qualifications. She is enjoying the opportunity to rotate across different departments, gaining diverse experience in the finance sector.

Cameron Tookey Gardner (OG 2020)

Cameron is a Naval Officer working in Joint Effects, which supports Naval Operations around the globe. He studied Economics at Warwick, specialising in International Relations Game Theory. Commissioning from BRNC Dartmouth, early career roles have included serving as an Aide‐de‐camp in the Ministry of Defence and a secondment to the Cabinet Office as well as sea periods in the far east. He is interested in talking to anyone interested in the wide variety of interesting and challenging roles offered by the Armed Forces.

Domenyk Turski (OG 20212)

Dom graduated with an Integrated Masters degree in Chemistry from the University of Bath where he then went on to pursue a PhD in the Sartbaeva group. His research focused on optimising the crystal morphologies of a class of synthetic material. While writing up his thesis, he spent a year working as a Lab Technician at the university and running the undergraduate Chemistry labs. After successfully completing his PhD in 2023, he accepted a role in Porton Down with the Civil Service, where he currently works.

Misha Verkerk (OG 2006)

Misha is a Consultant Otologist and ENT Surgeon at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, specialising in patients with ear disease, hearing loss and balance disorders. He studied Medicine at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge and University College London. Following higher surgical training in London, he undertook a specialist fellowship in Otology, Hearing Implants and Skull Base Surgery in Sydney, Australia.

James Vivian (OG 2002)

James studied Politics at Exeter University and then completed a Masters in Real Estate at Oxford Brookes. He joined CBRE, becoming a qualified member of the RICS after the two year graduate program. He worked at CBRE for 7 years and has now been at Savills for 11 years specialising in the buying and selling of commercial property.

Oliver White (OG 2015)

Oliver studied Classics at Trinity College, Oxford and then completed a Masters in Art History at the Courtauld Institute, London as a scholarship student, before gravitating back towards maths and finding a graduate role at a leading Actuarial Consultancy firm in the City. He is now a Senior Actuarial Analyst & Model Specialist at the company and his work involves detailed mathematical modelling of the reserves, exposures, risks and liabilities of many of the largest and most recognisable insurance companies in the UK and further afield.

Tom Woffenden (OG 2011)

Tom has worked in film, TV and theatre for ten years in London and Los Angeles ‐ in comedy, drama and reality TV. After four sellout runs, Tom's play "Cockfosters" is transferring to The Southwark Playhouse in London in May 2025. It is also being developed as a musical. Tom's production credits include Channel 4's 'Gogglebox', 'Big Brother' and the Alex Rider TV series. He's also written sketch comedy for the BBC.

Jonathan Wright (OG 2020)

Jonathan is a graduate process engineer, having recently graduated with an integrated Masters in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College. He is currently working in the Oil, Gas and New Energies Projects area at Wood plc. He has previously completed internships in green hydrogen, waste‐to‐energy, carbon capture and finance.
