4 Rustenburg Times
VISIT BY EXCHANGE STUDENTS From the start of the term Rustenburg had the pleasure of hosting two Exchanges students from Germany. Julia Machhein, from Solingen (near Düsseldorf) came with the German FSA-Youth Exchange to be hosted by Alexa Bessinger, who had gone on Exchange to Germany in December 2011. She arrived already on 7 July and joined Alexa at her home in Lüderitz, Namibia, before coming to Rustenburg on 24 July to live as a boarder in Erinville for her ten days with us. Jana-Maria Wintersohl from Olpe (near Cologne) is a Rotary Exchange student and was hosted by Ayesha Kaprey, who will in turn
travel to Jana’s home in Germany in December/January 2012 for her short term Rotary Exchange. Julia said that coming on Exchange to South Africa gave her self-confidence and that her favourite photograph would have to be of Table Mountain, while Jana’s photograph for her computer screen would be of herself with her host family in Camps Bay. She found that Rustenburg taught her to be more open as a person and she valued the deep friendships that the girls of Rustenburg have. Frau R Fourie
