Coach's Note

Sandro Salami Head of Youth

Dear parents and guardians,

Here's wishing all of you a very happy new year!

As we move in to 2023, we look ahead with excitement at all that lies ahead!

Continuing our attempts to find good quality competition for our players across the country and abroad, January has been busy for us.

The U-16s travelled to the North East, where they had an exposure trip in Shillong. They played quality opponents, Shillong College, Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools, and Shillong Lajong FC U-18s.

The matches were competitive, but our boys came away with valuable experiences, and got to see what football in the North East is like

Similarly, our U-17s travel to Assam in February for the Raidang Cup, a knock-out competition where they will take on local teams

Our U-19s travelled to Goa, where they played practice games vs. Dempo SC, FC Goa, and the Indian National U-17 team. The team got a taste of real, top level competitive football These games are an important barometer for the players to understand the gap they need to bridge in order to play at the highest level.

And finally, Our U-14s and U-15s will be travelling to Bengaluru in February to play games vs Alchemy International, and Bengaluru FC

We look forward to having our players play high level competition and developing their skills and techniques further!

Counsellor's Note

Padma Rewari Head of Child Welfare and Education

Dear parents and guardians,

I hope this new year is full of happiness, joy, and prosperity for all of us.

January sees the academic year go full steam ahead, with exams and pre-boards being conducted for our school going boys!

The Xth and XIIth standard students have been preparing hard for the exams and the upcoming boards, while boys from VIIth, VIIIth, IXth and XIth have been prepping for their final exams.

I am sure all the boys will exceed all expectations and make us proud!

But, it's not been all work and no play this month. Our Xth and XIIth std. boys also had their respective school Farewells this month!

The ceremonies offered the boys a chance to dress up in their best clothes and be treated to special treatment from their juniors

We also celebrated Republic Day this month. Since Beverly Park has opened up, we have a chance to properly celebrate all the big occasions, and Republic Day was no exception!

The ceremony started with a flag hoisting and a march past by the staff at Beverly park, before speeches and the National Anthem were sung by all present.

It was a great time to remind the boys of our history and to celebrate our rich traditions and diversity as a nation. From our end, we organised a special lunch for the boys, consisting of our "Tiranga Biryani", and traditional halwa enjoyed by all of us!

We look forward to the coming months as we buckle down and prepare for exam season Rest assured, the boys will meet all challenges head on and come out victorious!

I am Ishan Hawari KP. I come fr Foundation School, and I play a before joining RFYC, I was train opportunity to join Young Cham You'vecomeintotheacademyfrom AiSCOUT.Howwasthatprocessfor you?

AiSCOUT was very useful for me to improve my talent and get noticed by the Academy. I practiced a lot ,uploaded all my videos for 3 months and I tried my best to get a full score!

I feel this platform helps all the young talents to upgrade themselves and be seen by top academies like RFYC. Especially those who are in rural area.

Whoisyourfootballidol?Why?

Cristiano Ronaldo is my football idol. I like skill, his flair, and his ability to score goals out of nothing.

But most of all, I admire his hard working nature and dedication to football and his drive to be the very best player!

Youhadabadinjuryonyourhandrecently.Howhastherecoveryprocessbeen?

When I was out injured, all my coaches, the physiotherapists, Padma Ma'am, my parents, my friends and my teammates helped me a lot. Even on the toughest days, when I sometimes couldn't see the future clearly, they gave psychological support.

Having such a strong support system was very important for my recovery, and I am grateful for each and every one of them!

LeadMedia & Content

Tellusalittleaboutyourself.

My name is Nihal Colaco and I am the Content and Media Lead for RFYC.

I have a MBA in international marketing from EU Business School, Spain and I've been a professional athlete for various footballing clubs in Bangalore and Barcelona. I've been playing football since the age of 6 and it's be a part of my life teaching me every step of the way.

My time at RFYC has been very rewarding. I was fortunate enough to visit the Reliance Corporate Park facility and meet the staff prior to my employment being confirmed and I'd like to say, seeing the lush surroundings and the warm, friendly faces, I was immediately sold on the project. Since then, it's only been a positive journey.

It's been an honour working with such disciplined and talented athletes alongside experienced staff who always follow a child first approach. I feel this is the place I see myself adding value to, and hope over the course of my time here that I'm able to fulfill the same.
