December 2022

Coach's Note

Sandro Salami Head of Youth

Dear parents and guardians,

The past 2 months have been busy here at Beverly Park

As you know, we have our mid season evaluations in November, and you have all received those reports. For some, it is a warning to pull their socks up, and for others, its a pat on the back and a reminder to keep working hard and developing.

This season, the U 19s participated in and reached the finals of the Mumbai Football Association's Super Division tournament! Although a hard-fought final was lost on penalties, progressing to the finals means we will, next season, be playing in the MFA's Elite Division for the first time in our history!

The semi-final match was marred by

some unfortunate events, where members of the opponent team and supporters resorted to abusing our players verbally and racially

Although credit to our boys for playing on and winning the game emphatically, this incident leaves a sour taste in our mouths. We have taken appropriate action and have written to the relevant authorities to try and ensure that this is never repeated.

We can not control the actions of others, but we, at RFYC do not and will never condone bigoted behaviour by anyone.

In happier news, we have finally launched the RFYC Naupang League in Mizoram! This league is a chance for us to start train children starting at a younger age, and allows the children

to stay at home and not have to move away at a young age.

A month in, this project has already shown us the sheer quality that is present in the North East of India.

The aim, as always, is to provide a wholesome experience to both players and parents and ensure that everyone present there is able to take away fond memories along with skill development.

So far, we have had over 1300 registrations across 5 age categories, with 60 + teams participating.

As the League takes a break for the winter, we look forward to the second leg of the project with optimism for a great turnout once more!

And finally, we are happy to announce that we now are present on Social Media!

This has been a long time coming, and now that we have a social presence, its really great to see all the love our audience is showing us!

I believe we have a very good story to tell, and these social media channels will be a fantastic medium to help us do that and share our knowledge with the football community in India as a whole.

Of course, we would love to have all of your support as well. Many of you have already shown us your support, and we are ever grateful to you for it.

On the personnel front, I am happy to let you know that we have a new team member! Pushpa Shahi joins us as a member of the Physiotherapy team An experienced sports physio from Bengaluru, Pushpa has previously worked with the Center for Sports Science and Sparsh Hospital in Bangalore.

I am sure that she will prove to be a valuable member of our team going forward!

If you do not follow us yet, you can do so on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Padma Rewari

Head of Child Welfare and Education

Dear parents and guardians,

As the curtain comes down on another year, we reflect on all that has happened here.

We reflect on all the good times and bad and thank god for bringing us through another year healthy and happy!

The past two months have been eventful. The children celebrated World Mental Health Day On October 10th, just before we broke for Diwali, and we celebrated Children's Day once we returned in November!

In December, the children were busy with their exams and now that the results are in, I am happy to report that the children have all done well!

My team and I have made efforts to try and address each child and help them to overcome these challenges.

We will keep making every effort to help them improve and become the best versions of themselves in 2023.

As a part of those efforts, we have introduced Life Skills sessions for the boys, imparting them with knowledge they might not normally get in a school setting.

We have leveraged the experiences of our staff for this, and the boys have had sessions on Internet and Social Media safety, Personal Finance and Investment, Sex Education, and more!

Of course, each child is unique, and the challenges for different children are different, and so are the challenges faced by them

I will leave you all for now with one wish. May this coming year be the very best and most fulfilling of our lives. May we take on every obstacle, pass every test, and reach all of our goals in 2023!

Christmas 2022!

Christmas, as we know, is the merriest of all festivals!

The mood at Beverly Park, leading up to the holiday was festive! As the boys completed their exams and prepared to go home, the air around the place seemed... lighter!

As the children had to go home at different times, the schedule was a little up and down, but the staff made every effort to try and keep the festive mood from the recently concluded

World Cup Finals alive with a mini tournament. Teams were divided into groups of 8, with each team representing one of the WC participants!

The games were intense, but fun, and Team "Morocco" took the title after a penalty shootout win over Team "France" in the finals!

Additionally, there were also small celebrations with players and staff, and the players got together and decorated the Christmas tree as well!
