Administrative Office 1 Shorter Avenue Rome, Georgia 30165 The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Administrative Headquarters is home to the director’s office, as well as the offices of the program and sports coordinators and administrative staff.

Visit this facility to register children for seasonal sports, summer camps, special events and programs. Coaches register and meet here as well.

This facility also houses the Rome Aerials Gymnastics Center.

Rome Aerials Gymnastics 1 Shorter Avenue Rome, Georgia 30165 The state-of-the-art gymnastics facility offers a wide variety of recreational and competitive gymnastics programs for all ages and abilities.

The Gymnastics Center features two in-ground pits, one channel pit bar, uneven bars with resi mats, in-ground tumble trak, separate recreational and competitive equipment, all standard gymnastics and tumbling equipment, parents’ viewing area and a party room.

General Facility Rental Information Rome Floyd Parks and Recreation boasts numerous facilities, parks and fields available for rentals. Whether it’s a huge event, needing stage, lights and power or a kids birthday party, our facilities offer options for all gatherings.

We have a multitude of facilities with large and small rooms, tables, chairs, kitchens and more amenities.

Rates Effective January 1, 2020 Rental groups will be contacted within three working days prior to the rental to confirm the number of attendees. If the number has increased from the original projection, the renter will be required to pay the fee over the phone. An attendee is anyone who enters the pool area.

Alto Park 1014 Burnett Ferry Road Rome, Georgia 30165 This 68-acre park serves as the centralized site of community softball services in Floyd County.

The 10-court, lighted tennis center is open for public play. The park also features a shaded picnic area and playground facilities, picnic pavilions, a volleyball court, several open space areas and trails.

Banty Jones Park 212 East 13th Street Rome, Georgia 30165 This park is named in honor of Banty Jones, an active Rome citizen, who was very involved in the community. The park features several fields for local games and practices, a covered basketball court, playground and more.

Fielder Center 1500 Crane Street Rome, Georgia 30161 The Fielder Center is just two blocks from Banty Jones Park on Crane Street.

Named in honor of Napoleon Fielder, a former Commissioner and long time Parks and Recreation Board member, this center hosts activities throughout the year including senior adult activities, community events and programs.

The Fielder Center includes 12,480 square feet and offers a meeting room, banquet room, gym with two basketball courts, kitchen and a concession area.

The center has 23, six-foot tables and 60 chairs available for rentals.

Brushy Branch 1 Montgomery Landing Rome, Georgia 30165 Located off Blacks Bluff Road, Brushy Branch Park is a small, beautiful park comprised of six acres, providing access to Lake Weiss, Big Cedar Creek and the Coosa River.

Charles C. Parker Center 1325 Kingston Highway Rome, Georgia 30165 The Charles C. Parker Center for Active Adults, located in Etowah Park, is named in honor of Charles C. Parker, former Commissioner who was very instrumental in the development of the Center.

The center serves as a hub for fun for Active Adults in Floyd County. It plays host to several programs, including Silver Sneakers Fitness Program, 50 and over Softball, Senior Funraisers, crafts and more.

It also offers several rooms and amenities for parties and gatherings, featuring a banquet room, party room/meeting room, billiards room and commercial kitchen.

The center has three, eight-foot table, 29, six-foot tables and 155 chairs.

Garden Lakes Park 2903 Garden Lakes Blvd. NW Rome, Georgia 30165 This 38-acre park is located off Newland Street behind Garden Lakes Elementary School offers many outdoor amenities, including a beautiful picnic area, soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts and serves as practice fields for adult and youth soccer leagues as well as youth baseball and softball.

Anthony Center 2903 Garden Lakes Blvd. NW Rome, Georgia 30165 The Anthony Center, named in honor of Horace Anthony, a longtime Parks and Recreation Board Member is located across from Garden Lakes Elementary.

The Anthony Center provides activities for all ages, including day camps, programs, senior adult activities and clubs as well as both basketball and volleyball leagues.

The center has 16,260 square feet and offers meeting rooms/party rooms, a banquet room, activity room, gymnasium, and outdoor patio and grill. It has 29, sixfoot tables and 171 chairs available.

Heritage Park 255 Jewell Frost Drive Rome, Georgia 30165 Heritage Park is located in Downtown Rome behind the levee on Second Avenue.

This eight-acre park is situated at the confluence of the Etowah and Oostanaula Rivers and offers an aesthetically pleasing and passive recreation opportunity for local residents and those who are visiting Rome and Floyd County.

The park has a gazebo, picnic shelters, a playground, fishing and river access, and paved trails.

Lock and Dam / Coosa River Trading Post 181 Lock & Dam Rd. Rome, Georgia 30161 A 73-acre park, located off Blacks Bluff Road, and listed on the National Registry of Historical Landmarks, Lock and Dam offers some of the best crappie and striper fishing in North Georgia.

The park is prepared for both RV and primitive tent camping. Select sites feature direct sewer hook-up, river views, picnic pavilions and shelter, fire rings, restroom,

shower and laundry facilities, fishing and nature trails. Other amenities include horseshoe pits, open play areas and an observation overlook.

The Coosa River Trading Post offers fishing and camping supplies, an exhibition center, live bait, tackle, fishing and hunting licenses and a boat ramp. It also has a 1,400-square foot room for rentals along with 18 chairs and seven tables.

The center is located inside North Floyd Park and is situated with convenient access to the Selman ball fields, playground and picnic pavilion. Ridge Ferry Park 393 Riverside Pkwy.

Rome, Georgia 30161 Ridge Ferry Park is Rome’s most popular park with a large central playground, picnic areas and river views. The park offers great access to the multi-purpose trail system, which runs through Downtown Rome.

This 60-acre park consists of a multipurpose pavilion, a large concert stage, fishing and river access, picnic shelters, playgrounds, restroom facilities, natural and paved trails, two sand volleyball courts, wetlands demonstration area, an ADA accessible tree house and a dog park.

The Rome/Floyd E.C.O. River Education Center and Pollinator Gardens are also on property and available for visiting.

Ridge Ferry Park hosts events throughout the year, including the Patriotic Party in the Park, Trout Unlimited Chili Cookoff, Chiaha Arts Festival and a seasonal Farmer’s Market.

This eight-acre park is a small neighborhood park consisting of a softball/baseball field and unlit basketball court. The park serves as a practice facility for youth and adult sports.

Riverview Park 255 Frost Drive Rome, Georgia 30165 This 34-acre park is located behind the levee on the Coosa River and consists of a youth sports complex.

The complex includes a four-field baseball complex, two-field football complex and playground. All areas are lighted and equipped with concession stands, restrooms and public address systems.

The football complex hosts the Unified Youth Football program.

Shag Williams Park 40 Minshew Road NE, Shannon, Georgia 30172 Shag Williams Park is located in Shannon and includes the Shannon Scout Hut and recreation center addition.

This 22-acre park offers covered outdoor basketball courts, one multi-purpose field, picnic areas, a playground, restrooms, two softball/baseball fields, tennis courts and a paved fitness trail. This park also boasts an 18-hole disc golf course.

Shannon Center 40 Minshew Road NE Shannon, Georgia 30172 The Shannon Center is located in Shag Williams Park and is available for rentals including weddings, showers and parties.

The Shannon Center features two banquet rooms, game room, playground, full-size kitchen and outdoor patio and grill.

The center has 6,500 square feet and offers 20, six-foot round tables, 11, six-foot rectangle tables, 160 folding chairs and 97 upholstered chairs. The scout hut is 2,500 square feet and has room for 14 tables and 95 chairs.

Wolfe Park 106 Park Avenue Lindale, Georgia 30147 Wolfe Park is located in Lindale and features tennis courts, two baseball fields, one multi-purpose field, a playground, a walking trail, a pavilion and a basketball court. It is named after Richard Wolfe, a long-time plant manager at Pepperell Mills.

Gilbreath Center 106 Park Avenue Lindale, Georgia 30147 Gilbreath Center, named in honor of Otis Gilbreath, a long-time coach at nearby Pepperell High School, is home to the Lindale WWII Memorial Plaques, which were constructed with bricks from the historic Lindale Mill.

Located beside Wolfe Park on Park Avenue, the center offers an activity room and amenities for parties, reunions, meetings, and gatherings along a gymnasium.

The center has 27, six-foot rectangular tables, 65 plastic chairs and 13 metal chairs.

The center is open for scheduled programs and events, and is available for private rentals.

Coosa River Nature Preserve Blacks Bluff Road The preserve encompasses 220 acres located adjacent to the Lock and Dam Park. It is owned by the Department of Natural Resources and is maintained by Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority.

Access is granted through the Lock and Dam store as a day pass only. No unauthorized use is allowed. This nature preserve has several trails and wildlife viewing areas. There is no hunting of any species and unauthorized motorized vehicles are not allowed.

Parks Division Headquarters 170 North Avenue Rome, GA 30161 This one-acre property houses the supplies, vehicles and equipment for the Parks Division along with RFPRA training rooms, a kitchen, two bay shop, storage and an employee fitness area.

Simms Mountain Trail Huffaker Road This trail starts at Huffaker Road and runs for roughly four miles to the Floyd County - Chattooga County line. The trail is constructed on old railroad bed. The trail is foot traffic, bikes and horses and no unauthorized motorized vehicles are allowed.
