ROASTED MAKHANA KHEER On every occasion, you can make this easy and sweet recipe that can be enjoyed with your family and friends. You can make and eat this recipe during

fasting- Roasted Makhana Kheer. A recipe prepared by roasting Makhana

in ghee and then cooking in Milk and Sugar till it thickens. Dry fruits enhance

its taste further making it a Shahi preparation.


Ingredients • Dry Fruits (sliced almonds, pistachios & dry coconut) – ½ cup

• Milk – 1 cup Milk - 1 Cup

• Makhana/ lotus seeds/ foxnuts – 1 cup • Sugar – 2 tbsp.

• Cardamom Powder( Ilaayche ) -1 tsp

Ghee – 1 tbsp

Makhana 1 Cup

Ilaayche – 1 tbsp

Dry Fruit – ½ Cup

• Ghee – 1 tbsp

Sugar – 2 tbsp


Procedure • Take a pan and heat the Ghee • Add Makhana • Stir to coat Ghee evenly on them • Roast on low flame till it gets golden

• Once Makhana roasted, Add milk. • Stir properly and cook for 10 minutes on low flame. • Add chopped dry fruits and mix it well. • Cook it till the Makhana softer

• Once the Makhana are cooked and milk gets thicker then add sugar. • Cook further for 2 minutes.

• Add Cardamom Powder • Keep stirring regularly to avoid sticking of milk at the bottom of the pan. • Now Roasted Makhana Kheer is ready to serve.
